Look I not a pervert or anything like that, I am just contemplating all alternative lifestules.
You are my hero :D

As SK said the prolonged usage of the armor will take things away from Gatts. I just wonder how much it will take from him. Plus at this point he seems to want to settle down and just protect Caska. How can he if he must use the armor more and more plus the part of his psyche that wants to continue to just destroy....
Well, as Schierke now can enter the armor and help Gutts, the story may get more weird than we can think :)

SK has no real urge to destroy everything, but he is no longer human, and he probably has no feelings and stuff.
He does have some feelings. He does not express them verbally, but you can see it in his gaze when he talks to Gutts and Zodd.
One particular scene is one of my Berserk all-time favorites. In vol26, when Gutts wears the Berserker armour for the first time, Zodd turns to Skully and says something along lines 'you make him take the same path as you?'. Then Skully looks at him. That gaze! I once counted it among my favorites Berserk quotes, it says so much!

Well, the greatest orgy lovers in entire goddamn human history were Romans, right? Right. And the Rome lasted for about 1000 years. Pretty good for a bunch of sexually frustrated weirdos. They ruled the whole damn world and no other country lasted for that long. And guess when did they fall? When they became Christians. Go figure.

A great example for post hoc misconception.

Well, I can see your point, but I think that you are wrong here. let me try to put it this way: I am not claiming that Romans were so good at conquering the world because of orgies, I am just saying that it is really possible to be an orgy lover and still kick ass. They were not some total frustrated losers.

Now about christianity. I do think that a fall of Rome had something to do with introduction of a new religion (just read The Antichrist by Nietzche). Of course it wasn't an only factor, but it's hard to produce large enough number of an organized badass killers (aka the Roman Legion) when you have such an afterlife-orientated religion. Orgies didn't destroy them, apathy did. Now I don't much like everything about Roman lifestyle, and I hate slavery, but they were a real Civilisation.

My point was, I guess, that people usually think that orgies are something purely destructive, and nothing but a cancer of a society, I am just saying that it is not always so. It's also a misconception that all orgy lovers are sexually frustrated weirdos

If he can gain control of the armor, it could actually be useful in helping him to protect Caska, since it's certainly an effective combat multiplier (this represents my attempt to pretend that we have a topic beyond orgies and their possible effect on the Romans).

In case you guys don't know, the cover of volume 31 of Berserk has a face shot of Guts in his in-control-of-Berserker-armour look. Which looks a bit like Batman or Midnighter. Sorry I can't link it, but I temporarily have slow nets.

Personally, I don't think that Guts can gain control of the armour by himself, but needs to have Schierke's spirit/od form to guide him. However, Schierke's magic is absolutely vital to the survival of the group, so is having a magic caster out of battle worth it to keep Guts in line? So far, signs point to yes, but we wouldn't know under different situations where magic plays a factor. Also, despite the wildly dangerous nature of entering the Berserk armour, would Schierke attempt to try this method again, or even, does she even know how to enter the armour? She was forced inside the Berserk armour purely by accident and without her consent, so I'm not absolutely certain that she would try this out under another situation.

Sorry for the misconception of me saying that Gatts wearing the armor has a direct consequence of him wanting to destroy everything. I was saying that the "Beast of Darkness" I believe its being called is what is the motivation for him to get nuts. Remember when he is out of control the armor takes the shape of the beast of darkness.

As Eld pointed out Gatts looks alit different when he is in control of the armor. But that beast is always lurking and it definitely is apart of him.

At this point it does seem like the only reason he was able to control the armor was because of Schierke's help, via astral projection. However, that would be awesome if that event actually acted as a catalyst, which will allow him to control it on his own in the future.

I dont really like the idea of him eventually being able to control the armor sentiently unless there is a very good explanation beyond the fact that he needs to become more powerful. I like the threat that it represents and now that it's neutered it doesnt seem as dangerous to me, besides the after effects it has on guts

It can't be good for his personality to be in control of the armor.
When Guts is trying to control the armor, he's basically on the edge. He's exposed to all the extremely intense rage and emotion, but he's aware of it all, and still in touch with reality.
That kind of exposure to intense emotion could potentially desensitize him to regular emotions when he's not all Jacked up in Berserk form. The result could be similar to what the SK has become.

Here's another question: if Schierke learns how to enter armour at will and begins to do that regulary to help Gutts, will the armour effect her in some manner as well?

Now I have this mental image of Schierke growling and jumping around whacking people with her staff. It's downright adorable.

Just checked it out. He looks like batman anyway in the manga (me and my friends are now referring to him as 'batguts'). Btw, is it just me or has the cover-artwork gone downhill these days. Well i guess the early voluems weren't fantastic either, but all the latest ones seem to be portraits of Guts with very little else. I'm probably just bised because of covers like the Eclipse as vol 13 just cam out in english...

We'll have to wait and see as to if she can (and will) enter the armor again at will, but all the evidence points to her still being able to cast spells while in the armor with Guts (remember the flame spell she cast to defeate the Kushan mage?) so I don't think they actually have to choose between her spells and Guts being in control of the armor.

Plus, since casting powerful spells seems to damage caster's body a lot, she is much better of casting spells using Guts' body as a cover. If she was able to summon a first fire wheel from her own body, just imagine all the posibilities now.

Though with her using her own body she is able to limit the power of the spell. Just remember Guts had to grab people and move them out of the way of that Fire Wheel. So her being able to use Gatts' body as a medium isn't necessarily a good thing.

Heads up, just to inform you guys that Berserk will not be released anytime this month at all. I have just checked the chapter listings at Young Animal, and it doesn't have Berserk anywhere. Today was the scheduled release of Young Animal, without Berserk in sight, and I have checked out the chapter listing for the next issue which is to be released on the 27th, and no luck there either.

I can only presume it will be out next month. Hopefully. So all of you try to keep your pants on for now.

Thanks for the Update though. I'm sure i can improvise other ways to entertain myself for a while.

The only info I get is from Young Animal, I am not aware of a way to somehow obtain this information directly from Miura himself.
