I think the reason they stayed away from the obvious trap of overdone gimmick fights is that they realized they just don't work very well. Holly Summers somehow slipped through the QA process.

It's one of the most memorable fights in the game.

Yes. It's also not a very good fight. Different, but not exactly awesome.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
I found a transcript of what Jeanne says when Travis is fast forwarding:
You are my half brother. You know that manga called Miyuki the japanese one? Well it's like that.
Your father abandoned my mother to run off with your mother. It broke her heart beyond repair, she killed herself knowing I had nowhere to go he took advantage of me.
Ever since I can remember he molested me. We lived in this rotten apartment and I was his slave.
Every day I cursed his soul, I swore I would kill him one day. But cursing didn't change anything. Thats when I decided to become a killer.
With no money to pay for training I paid with my body.
But to you I bet that son of a bitch looked like a hard working family man.
That was all an act. He didn't give two shit about cleaning up my life.
So I decided to clean it up myself thats why i do what I do and I got what I wanted killing him infront of your very eyes

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
Yahtzee got around to reviewing (Or I should say Australia apparently got around to releasing) No More Heroes:
http://www.escapistmagazine.com/article ... ore-Heroes
II pretty much agree with the end statement, and while the rest of it seems harsh, the only thing that's only really uncalled for is ANOTHER (Albeit slight) GTA comparison (STOP IT!). You also have to remember is that people only like it when he makes fun of stuff, so in turn he really only touches on the weakest aspects of the game (Although in reality did find myself saying "Yeah, what the fuck?" when he talked about the death roulette) and then going "but the rest of the game is actually good" as seen by his reviews of The Orange Box and Super Mario Galaxy.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
I still don't see why everyone masturbates to Yahtzee or why people hang on to his every word.
Every week I have to read from every blog how Yahtzee was completely right about whatever game he reviewed that week and a lot of times he just isn't.
Ugh.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
he just has a weird voice and goes with his mouth that can move too fast for humans.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
People like well written reviews with witty comments about shit.
Throw in gay jokes and an unnecessary hate about quick time events and you have Yahtzee.
I kinda like his reviews in general but the worship is bullshit. His Witcher review was fucking horrible.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
It's the same thing I mentioned a while back about it being easier to concentrate on the negative aspects of a particular game because people seem to respond more easily to that.
It's his shtick and it's been done to death in the past.
His BioShock review was bullshit.
His main point was that it was too much like System Shock 2.
What?
Are you kidding me?

You're always gonna find something you disagree with on someone's review. Yahtzee's funny, that's the only reason I need to keep watching.Femto wrote:It's the same thing I mentioned a while back about it being easier to concentrate on the negative aspects of a particular game because people seem to respond more easily to that.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
They pay him to say shit sucks very fast, you can find stuff like that in most of his reviews. The points he argues are hit-and-miss, but his rants are usually enjoyable even when he's way off.Femto wrote:Are you kidding me?
His hatred of Control-Alt-Delete (which rears its head from time to time) is genuine though, and he's a frequent poster in the "Your Webcomic Sucks and so does CAD" thread on Something Awful.

Re: Wiiiiiiii thread.
I just played Mariokart Wii and I thought it was pretty solid. I was kinda worried that using the wheel would suck, but it's pretty easy to handle once you get used to it. The game seems more traditional in that it uses several tracks from previous games and the new tracks are more reminiscing of Mariokart 64.
It's as good as ever, but hardly revolutionary.
