Oh whatever. Guts and Serpico would 0wnz0r Pippin before he could ask where to fidn the next baby to eat. I could see him giving Serpico trouble, but Guts (even pre-eclipse gut)? Not even close. By that logic, he could beat griffith if he was on Par with Guts. No way.


Pre-eclipse Guts made short work of Silat. And my current evaluation of Serpico and Pre-Eclipse Guts stands, so therefore:


Silat-> <-Serpico (Or anyone else but Nameless Soldier #12 for that matter )

Nah, I think silat has more fighting knowledge then serpico. He just underestimated Gutts. Silatt didnt see Gutts in battle as much as Serpico did.

Silat fought Guts twice and was completely pwned the first time, but even so he still couldn't hold him off the second time. and this was pre-eclipse.

Serpico almost got post-eclipse Guts the first time, had the speed and agility to avoid getting his foot chopped off another time, and made guts fight him seriously as a man a couple of chapters back. I don't understand what it will take to make some of you see that he is a remarkable swordsman, in addition to being a brilliant tactician. There were scenes when he was still using his regular sword and he was just foolin around and still pierced through a bunch of floating leaves with his rapier in less than a second. That's not easy to do, even with one leaf.

Besides, between Silat and Serpico, I think Silat is by far teh geigher one with all his getup and weird weapons.

serpico is atleast on par with pre-eclipse griffith. he can stand better toe-to-toe with post-eclipse guts better than griffith did against pre-eclipse guts. I think you're letting your bias against his "fairy ass" override your judgement here buz

serpico is a skilled fighter nonetheless, but he is not on par with guts and he is definitely better than isidoro...so serpico is somewhere between isidoro and guts

Your scale is kind of squed because Guts is at the top and Isidoro is at the bottom but Serpico is defenitly no in the middle. I think I will start a thread about ranking fighters of Berserk, what do you guys think?

I think his getup is tite. And his weapons are really ccool too. And honestly Serpico was around gutts alot more than silatt was so he was able to think of these strategies. Had Silatt had the same amount of time, theres not a doubt in my mind that he would have done better than Serpico.

Lets us not forget either, that Serpico did not have his "fag fairy" powers when he fought Guts recently, and came out fairly well, had those pilars not backfired.

He lost.. Losing is losing no matter what. And had those pillars not been there Gutts would have made quick work of him.^^

Guts wouldn't have killed him, pillars or not. That is what I got from the dialog. Guts wants him alive, as he realizes that Serpico has talent as a tactician and as a master swordsman.

Still ,it took more work for Guts to beat him than it did to take care of Silat.


The record as of two battles each:

Silat: Pwn3d like a noob twice, by pre-eclipse Guts
Serpico:Still got beat, but not in a manner of seconds, with no wind powers, and actually challenged Post-eclipse Guts both times.

I have to agree wholeheartedly with Ayanami (and most others, for the matter). Silatt is a good fighter...but beating Gatts you can't be only good. You must be more than excelent (Serpico is excelent and was trying to keep his pants dry near Gatts).

Gatts is not a measure of fighters. He simply is beyond measure. If you want, we can arrange Silatt vs Serpico, but I think Serpico would make new tatoos (with scars, that is) in Silat

In order (IMHO):
Silatt < Pippin < Judeau < Serpico < Dan (lol) <<<<<<<<<<<<< Gatts

Dude. Guts has been resting for like 15 chapters . Of course he would be a little bit rusty vs Serpico.

Isse: You damn right he has been resting, he looks like he could take on an army right about now. His attitude right now, IMO is somewhere between cautious and seething pissed off-ness which he hides rather badly with a either his blank stares or shit eating grins. There isn't any comic relief in his appearance as opposed to a volume ago.

He seems to gotten into incredibly silent, minimalist type mood. As if he is worried about the future for once in his life, and unsure as to how it will play out.

Weather Guts will admit it or not Serpico is a big help being a Shaman assasin and rear guard while Guts is out fighting.

Yupp could be so,
or he was thinking on that if he killed Serpico Farnese would definitely not baby sit anymore for the one that took away his life .. Thus leaving Guts with a major problem in the future (I don´t think he wants to go back to the time when he had to take care off Cascka, and fight at the same time again).

Guts has not had to fight spirits at night any more, what did I miss? Was it the incantation that schieke's master put on the armor or something or the seal on the brand well what ever it is it sure makes the night time a little more dull

I think it was some seal Schierke's master gave him that keeps the spirits away from him.


About Serpico i think he is a little above avreage in streanght but he is way way above avreage in skill and tactics. He showed it pretty clear in his two fights against Guts. I mean not even the strongest apostles except Zodd, Grunbeld or something that hurt him really bad in the witch place have given Guts so much trouble in recent times.

yea i agree with psi here. Guts has a very aged wisdom/cautiousness about him right now. its, imo, mainly to do with him testing whether or not he can handle these situaitons without having to resort to using the armor. how much time DID he get to rest...

Yeah a seal on the berserker armor and on his branded neck. But it won't stay forever.
I think you could say Serpico would be equal to pre-eclipse griffith in both, gayness and skill.
