actually i believe he had skin and muscle removed from his face...maybe his nose too. but it makes sense that his face is fine even if he was messed up because that was how he looked last time he saw himself.

I think it was not a vision of the future, it was just an idea of how it all could have been if he would have wanted to just live in peace after winning the war.
He was all silent and emotionless becouse he was plain stunned (from how different it all could have turned out), even in his vision.

pronouncing those thhththth words in English was my primary scare...it is the premonition of a spit-shower
and it sounds so unusual to me, my language doesn't use this kind of pronounciation...only in speech therapy maybe.

If "th" produces spit-showers, speech theraphy is indeed needed.

No, I think it was the future of that specific timeline. Casca was even feeding him, and Gatts (her child) would be her child with Gatts.
About his face, he was with his helm during all torture. Gatts make a frightened face when he sees him because he last his tongue, he was probably charred on the face and too frail and thin. But those things vanish in time.
So, when he saw his future, he decided it wasn't what he wanted. Well, you know pretty well what he did after that
Cheers,
Khelegond

No dude, I'm pretty freakin sure that nothing was down to his face. Granted, he looked pretty emaciated from lack of eating properly. If you can actually show me a picture with his face having been stripped of flesh or what not, then please do so, because I’ve looked, and I see nothing.
Also, the vision that he has with him being taken care of by Casca shortly before the eclipse wasn’t some type of clairvoyance. He was probably just hallucinating or daydreaming or something.

Yep...and Casca simply called Guts "...that man..." (I wonder if he's still swinging that sword etc.)
and looking at the Hawk banner on the wall she gets all nostalgic...

But they didn't want to take his "helmet" off and they were shocked and tryed to hide it from the others. I don't think Guts would get shocked just because they cut his tongue off. There must have been something different.

I'd say Griffiths daydream was kinda like the symbol for him realising that his dream became impossible to be realized with the hawks. And that Guts isn't with the hawks anymore, but swinging his sword for his own reasons.
Also I'd agree that Griffiths face must have been all messed up. I don't think it was actually shown anywhere but the only ones who saw it are Judeau and Guts and they look really shocked. (Volume 10/approx. page 140)

I think after some time you get numb and don't feel the pain anymore. If you didn't die because of the pain.

That may be the reason the inhuman screams ended. So who said you can't lose your mind after that?

Nobody. I just meant you're not suffering physically the whole time. The physical pain ends after some time.
