You know what sucks about Sin City....if you read the comic book...then you already know EVERYTHING that will happen in the movie. Frank Miller wouldn't do the movie if he didn't have it exactly like his comic book...so there's no new story or plot twist here. But it will still kick ass...Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino both worked on this project, so I'm pretty sure it won't let me down. But to tell you the truth I'm happy that it's staying true to the comic...otherwise it might suck. Can't wait for the Friday release.
I agree with you DarkenRahlX. I like it when things stay true to the book. I don't mind watching what I read. It looks from teh previews like it will be a really neat view of it. I am so looking forward to it. Frank Miller is god.
I think I heard that the actual comic book panels are used as storyboards for the movie. That's how close the relationship between the movie and the comic will be. Luckily, I've only read The Hard Goodbye, so I only have 1/3 of the film spoiled. The other two parts will be spoiled in comic book form after I see the movie though, so it's kind of a lose/lose situation. It might not be a really good idea for comic book fans to keep the movie so close to the comic, but I prefer it that way.
I can't be sure until I see it though... Just a few more days...
I generally like things to be close to the book, especially if I read the book first. Its like a different interpratation of the same thing, so I get to see it presented differently and I like that. I hate when I read something and they change alot, stupid LOTR movies. But if I see the movie first, I find it hard to read the book afterwards unless it is different, or just really good.
Saw Sin City on Friday. Oh Man, that is a good, good movie. Just unbelievable how they brought the look of the comics into it. I am getting all the comics just because I like the movie and I saw how close they are story-wise. Darkhorse is releasing the stories in soft cover, all the comics of a story (Such as "The Hard Goodbye" and "That Yellow Bastrad") in one book. It was 17 bucks when I got it. Well worth it. Man, between this and Berserk, Darkhorse is going to be getting quite a bit of money from me.
