"In this world, some people born are like keys that move the world and exist having no connection to the social hierarchy established by man."

I the real world I cant help but think that Adolf Hitler is one of those men. He certainly moved the world alright. He actually has alot in common with Griffith, or at least something. Both of them rose to great heights and then ... well. Fucked everyone up.

Any thoughts on this? Maybe othere examples of people like this IRL.

"No matter how strong, for a human to fight a monster means he has submerged his humanity and transformed himself into a greater monster." (Shierke when Guts fights some evil thing)

"If you follow me to this place, the entire world... is a battlefield."
Guts says this 2 Jill when she begs him to take her away. Then all the spirits that haunt him appear and she gets scared. This quote i think supports my theory that Guts and Griffiths are sort of opposites. Griffith has this charisma that makes everyone want to fight for him (like Mule) but Guts with more sword than word inspires people to join him. Jill is naturally drawn to him, as is Farneze, Ishidoro, and Sheirke.

"It's in you. You never tell anyone. The desire. The darkness."

"DO NOT PRAY! If you pray, your hands will close together! You will not be able to fight!"
Probly my alltime fav. Can't beleive it took u guys 7 pages to post it lol. Anyhoo that's my fav quotes.
Oh and this:

"How did that happen? One second there was a man swinging his firey hands... And then before my eyes... He seemed more like a fearsome monster." -Jill when They're in Misty Valley and Guts is burning the Cocoons. This quote is also written in the frame with probably one of the top 5 coolest drawings in the whole manga.

There are many serious quotes that are good, but some just lighten up the series by making you smile or laugh, like the following ones.
Image
When Puck goes on about how Guts wouldn't be able to make it on his own.

Image
When Guts is in a cage imprisoned by Farneze and sees a monster appearing at night.

no its jus casual sarcasm. when you see something bad is coming to you, you find yourself saying something like "great" or "terrific" or in this case "lovely". *shrugs

Well its not laugh out loud funny, its more just brings a smile to your face, but yes it is just general casual sarcasm. I agree it is a bad example though.

lol definetely not the best example. Puck is perfect is you want to say some part lighten the mood... I mean, at one point he says he thought he was a chestnut!! (when they get the elemental weapons). He brings in the comic part of the manga in my opinion.

Puck pwns, and is very very necessary to the manga. He helps lighten it up when necessary, and is so loveable.

Yeah, I agree. Puck provides the light hearted appeal in the dark manga. Most of his lines are usually funny, especially the parodies on Star Wars, and other mangas.

Ugh... don't even bring up that fucked up donkey. George must have been high when he thought him up. Worst mistake of his career; not that i'm a starwars nerd or anything (I like them flashy swords!!)

The lovely qoute is funny cause Farnese and her crew served him as buffe for the spirits thats after him.

I mean what else can you say when you are f***** up like that.
