It has nothing to do that the hollywood studios takes comic adaptions more seriously now considering it makes them top money? Or that now alot of capable and great directors are willing and making these movies?
I dont know how he screwed up, but the comic book movies in the 80s were totally different from how big the comic adaptions are now.
Dood you took it too far, i was making a joke. Now just let my post die.
I thought it was mildly humorous. YOU'RE A KRAUT!!11

What i find funny is that the only thing people diss in the movie wasnt in the comic, hollywood made it up, i am of course talking about the political schemes back in Sparta.

Are you some humourless Kraut or something
if you have ever seen the awesomeness of robocop 1 then you would understand how much robocop 2 sucked. Robocop2 was written by Frank Miller (the fucking movie).
I would think the older guys would all understand the awesomeness of robocop 1, i mean i was just born when that movie came out.
Oh and anyone see the 1 frame Watchmen added into the 300 trailer? Zack Synder did it on purpose since he is signed on to direct a watchmen movie, if there ever will be one in the next few years.
on a side note, just saw Pan's Labyrinth, wow, just wow, loved all of it.

A piece of shit movie with an anti-climactic ending and blatant Republican propaganda that wasn't originally in the comic book where they abuse slow motion and steal from Robert Rodriguez's filmmaking techniques throughout this cliche after cliche and plot device after plot device that is called "300."
And this is the same guy that's going to direct the Watchmen movie?
I expected some of those things even without seeing the movie (they yell freedom this or that, nothing like the novel, so I understand how retarded that may seem). Understood it from the clips I have seen. But decided not to care when I'm going to watch the movie and only be entertained by the action.
Btw...I heard Ephliates is just shown briefly for being some deformed freak. They havent brought in the story from the novel, of how he was sad for being rejected by Leonidas and the spartans. His char had some depth and plot, some meaning. But in the movie, they apparently cut that important part(because it explains his betrayal), and decided to add stupid stuff that wasnt in the novel...Like monster orc army of Immortals, blades guy, warring rhino and fantasy stuff like that...

You don't understand.
You have to listen to the queen's speech.
The propaganda is just fucking ridiculous.
I haven't read the comic but the hunchback dude is nothing but a poor plot device in the movie.

The only part they cut out was him jumping the cliff to kill himself after being denied to join the Spartans. He survives and curses the gods and Leonidas then joins Persia. Those were the parts cut out. He still tried out for the army and joined the Persians later.

That sounds bad. I'll try to ignore the modernization of the speeches and propoganda as you said. But then again, I dont want to watch this movie for drama or acting, know it will suck in that.
But if you are that annoyed, you should read the comic quick, its priceless and prolly far from as cheesy as the movie. Leonidas is a bit more iconic and laconic, a silent and stern king, says what he says with purpose, instead of screaming every two seconds like he seems to do in the movie.

He doesn't to that. He still is pretty quiet just jokes around a little more. And that one speech(the one before they die) is just somewhat longer.
Thats good to hear. From the trailer, and the half of dozen actual film clips I have seen, he seems to be only screaming and nothing but. He has to motivate them yes, but it seemed a bit off compared to what he did in the novel.
Nevertheless, cant wait til 5th of april.

I didn't like the Queen speech at all. But the movie was still pretty shway over all. I didn't go into the movie expecting oscar worthy or Sin City caliber stuff. While the speech made me cringe, I am sure most people didn't really pay much heed to it. Most people just talk about the battles and stuff like that.

I just wanted to make that part clear.
I'm starting to think you are ranting because you love your exaggerated e-role of the token angry guy waaay too much
Was I wrong in taking your opinion of the movie seriously? You seem to be hating on it for the sake of it, instead of the movie really pissing you off (the speech kind of corny stuff can be ignored).

The movie mad Leonidas seem very angry and roid raging. Where as in the comic he pretty much only yells in the last scene. And they do talk about being freemen and liberty in the comic a little bit. Not as much as in the movie. The queen from the movie can suck my dick.
