Damn, I love how Miura handled the opening scenes prior to the battle. The Neo-Hawks being portrayed in what starts off as reflection of the original Hawks, but quickly is made clear that it's more along the lines of a mockery. The physical change in "Griffemto"s gaze (now demonic slits) even...agh. Way to shove that salted lemon wedge into old, unhealed wounds Miura
HAWT
Thanks guys!

Thanks guys!

Thanks EG, you rule.
I totaly agree with Stalore. This episode really draws parallels between the now and great old days. Now I really want to know how will this turn out eventually. Griffith is godlike, but Kushan emperor is not to be underestimated. Sadly there isn't much more to discuss here, because, like in the last chapter, there is too much ambiguity. I can't wait to se how will this turn out.

Thank you!
It great to see Griffith leading his new comrades, apostle, in war. Griffith truly is a ruler of all being (giants, human, monster, and metal knights).
Looking forward to the battle between the King of Kushan and Griffith. Because then we can compare Gutts and Griffith in term strength. We see how Gutts struggle and practically burn to a crisp when he fight against Kushan-Ou. I wonder if Griffith will have the same problem. We never see Griffith in battle (against strong enemies) after he gets reborn into "Griffith".
Great to see Kentarou and the Neo-Hawks into action again.

I don't really think the Hawks shapeshifted. If you look at page 12, it appears Locus and that other demon almost fall right out of the sky out in front of Griffith and the rest of the Hawks. Given Skull Knight has a horse that can fly, it's not totally out of the question that the Apostles could have them as well.EnglishJim wrote:That chapter was tremendous. I love the shapeshift of the Hawks, as Starlore pointed out. I'm also liking Grunbeld's new armor.![]()
Thanks a million, guys.
Rather than a shapeshift, it's more likely the Apostles were hiding behind the human troops, then jumped out in front at the last second.
Take a look at page 15, the picture below the close-up of Locus' head. You can see the demon lancers out in front, and Griffith and the human Hawks are hanging back behind them.

Either that our they formed out of mist....There's a mist cloud that they all come out of on page 11.
And Zodd with an axe eh? (WTF...axe is spellchecked?????) This should prove interesting. And it seems that Griffith didn't care about starting the battle transformed. Pretty sweet.

I think that's just the dust they're kicking up rather than a cloud of mist. However, I retract my earlier statement about the lancers dropping in from above on flying demon horses. They come in from the side. You can clearly see the two files of them coming up along side Griffith and the humans in that picture on page 11.TheDrizzit wrote:Either that our they formed out of mist....There's a mist cloud that they all come out of on page 11.
So no, the Neo Hawks did not mock the old Hawks then shapeshift into demon form, nor did they just drop in from above.
