Could you tell me where to find that scene? Cause I can't remember it off hand, so I'd like to see what it says. As for the Rebirth scene, I thought Guts face showed mostly shock (as one would expect) but I didn't see any joy. That could be a matter of interpretation, but even if there was joy I think the argument could easily be made that the joy was just because he now knew it would be possible for him to try to kill Griffith. Before his biggest problem was just getting to Griffith, but now that Griffith's in this world, that problem is greatly lessened.
MrFelony has that very reaction as his avatar - the chapter is 175: Appearence. There is no joy in his emotion, just complete surprise. The reason for this is that he sees Griffith, not Femto. Griffith has also been returned to a state before his torture, add that to the fact that he appears out of nowhere from a piercing, holy light and you have a recipe for total shock.

there is also awe in the picture as well. I think that Guts did have a lapse in his hatred for guts because of his sheer shock and awe and, like griffith, had a lapse of feelings for the other.

EDIT: his face reminds me of one who just saw the most beautiful scenary on earth or something heavenly perhaps

He has! Well, maybe not heavenly, but other-worldly.

You're right, I forgot all about the awe while I was writing against the other statement. You can see that in his face, but I wouldn't as far as to say there was joy.

Thanks, but I was actually asking about the scene where after the field of swords Guts said that he almost forgot to attack Griffith. I can't remember that, so I wanted to re-read it. The rebirth scene stuck in my memory a lot better (hence my commenting on it).

Massive posts to start, some bad etiquette/misconduct, but lead up to some great work by el diablo. Taking from what Diablo said i have to mention some things that crossed my mind. Guts wasnt a stickler for attention or praise. I can relate to him because thats pretty much how i am, or the majority of us. He didnt like the spotlight and if they threw a going away party in his honor he probably wouldnt have liked it. Perhaps thats why he just up and left withou saying anything.

Another thing. Is it possible that Griffeth was homosexual(dont mean to offend anyone) or is it just a brotherly love relationship. When Guts left Griffeth was desperate. He was downtrodden to the point where he threw his dream of geting to his castle in the sky into the couldron. Was it love-love or just brotherly love.

I mean...comon, Guts was a close friend of his but to go and throw it all away like that.....

response to guts leading an army...

Post by white_rose »

 that's it.... Guts could lead an army of berserkers like him with similar berserker armor against Griffith... The Band of the Hawk versus the Wolf Clan... maybe since his hair is whitening, Guts' armor could whiten as well, and it could be a duel between the White Hawk and the White Wolf. I know that he's the black swordsman, but perhaps it could represent his determination and virtue. Then again, even the color difference between their armor was a beautiful metaphor exemplifying their difference in style, and thus mocking the "knight upon white steed" fallacy. I suppose that it's true... The good guys wear black.

Admittedly, one of the elements of this story I revere the most is the shock and awe of Guts' ungodly skill and prowess in combat. My Ideal Berserk Situation would somehow involve Guts somehow traveling back through the flow of time to his glory days with the band of the hawk... but instead of fighting on the side of midland, working his way to Griffith as a knight of Chuder (complete with his unfathomable skill, wisdom, experience, armor, and sword). Perhaps, to make it somewhat fair for Griffith, the four other members of the Godhand would attempt to stop Guts, but their strengths would be limited to their physical forms. No phasing in and out of reality for you, Ubrik. Bad monkey. Also, perhaps, he could face the a priori apostles of the Hawk Band, earn some major respec' for owning on them. When the inevitable confrontation between he and Griffith would arive, since he is not ruled by Causality, he could bypass his former self, as well as Caska and the other members of the Band, Griffith could be possessed by his Femto self, and the greatest duel ever to be seen in Berserk would ensue. After all would be said and done, his prior self, prior Caska, and the good ol' Band would express their utter astonishment at Future Guts' mad skills, the reader would get chills because of the awe factor, and Miura would wave his wand, or Dragon Slayer, perhaps, and do what he always does, but to Finish the story in style.

oh yeah... and.... :x :x :x NEED CASKA TO BE SENTIENT AGAIN!!! $^@# GRIFFITH! HOW COULD HE BE SUCH AN EVIL @$&%*^!?     poor Caska... To be revert to a childlike state of mind, and lose all of her precious memories of those closest to her, such as Guts, because of Griffith's ambition...

This definately belongs in the stupid theories thread. And it isn't really a good idea to necro for your first ever post, especially when the post isn't particularly profound.

Have you ever imagined how things would've gone if Gatsu was never aware of Zodd's presence in the battle of Chudar, and the Dragon Slayer sliced him clean in half (though still killed the horse, because that was cool). Zodd would've be like; 'fuck... the Skull Knight is going to add that to his wretched list'.

Neither. That's unrealistic...

to be perfectly honest, that was about the zestiest post here. Anything previously posted has either been:

1. OBVIOUS :stupid:

2. A JOKE

or...

3. POINTLESS :headbang:

If you really wanted to make interesting posts, you could post on Miura's web page. I thought that, since this is the place that makes beautiful miura comics available to me when they are not available anywhere else, and since I don't have japanese script setup on my school computer, this was the best place to hunt for topics. Mataku. Sore wa hagaii. Antatachi wa honma aho ya. Ja... sayonara bakamonotachiiiii!

Oi oi, you can't be both the judge and defendant of interesting... upon realising that many have so far stuck to making jokes, pointing out the obvious or posting for the sake of posting, realise that the first few replies to what you said may very well follow those lines - give it time, don't storm off. Haha, patience. It's such a shame to see people up and leave in anger.

I think I mentioned, the biggest problem wasn't the post quality (although that wasn't as profound as you seem to think it was) as the fact that it was necroing.
