Went to Future Shop today, and they had 11 PS3 games. Of those 11, only 5 went to a max of 1080. The rest were all 720.

For all that talk about it being true High Definition in 1080...kind of disappointing.

Yeah fucking right. 360 had 400,000 units was it at launch? What did PS3 have this launch? Last time I checked it was about 250,000.

Considering the yield to make the cell processor is a piss poor 20% right now, there is no way in hell they will reach their million consoles sold by the end of the year which they said they would. I have friends working at Gamestop, telling me that they had 6 to 9 PS3s and about 30 to 40 of the Wii. With more shipments of the Wii coming in the following week and no second shipment of PS3s even scheduled. They are pretty much waiting for a Sony rep to drop the word to them, could be as late as March. Sony's Launch is the most chaotic launch I have ever seen, Nintendo's is going just as planed.

By the way, got a chance to play the Wii after my friend picked one up at midnight. My main concern going in to this was how accurate the controller would be, considering that is the only real concern you can have about the system. The controller is crazy accurate to the tee, games handle like a dream and are very intuitive. Need to get my own soon. Need to get a 360 soon too, don't need to get a PS3 any time soon.

19 Days until Wii European Launch day, and here's me safe in the knowledge I'll be getting one of the first 10 consoles from my workplace.

My wife and I camped outside our local Best Buy for the last 9½ hours. They don't seem to open at midnight here like they do elsewhere in the states, so we had to wait until 8am.

Wii Sports is amazing so far, if kind of lacking depth. But I love how the controller handles and my wife and I had a good amount of fun teaming up against 2 computer players in Tennis.

We also bought Zelda, but we haven't broken into that one yet.

My brother bought us the wii. He lives in in Fullerton about 1hr and a half away though. Our system is gonna be trading it off for a week. And once I pick up my 360 we'll just do a series of trades.

I also picked one up. Wii Sports is a lot of fun...my fitness age is 74... damn baseball. Zelda is absolutely amazing, spent five hours on it already. I also picked up Trauma Center: Second Opinion because the place I bought it from said I have to buy 2 games. But the game is actually pretty fun, you do operations like removing tumors and stuff.

We have Trauma Centre for the DS, and we aren't really interested in spending money in order to be able to play pretty much the same game with the Wiimote instead of the Stylus pen :P.

And my Fitness age was 38. I did horribly on the bowling, but hit homeruns with all but two of the pitches in baseball ;).

My friends and I were thinking the same thing, but according ot people who have played it, and from what I've seen, there are some key differences, including more missions and different tools to use. For one thing, the tool selection is made by touching a certain point on the nunchuck joy-stick. For example, to pick the forceps, you have to hit the 10:00 position on the joystick. I can't help but think it will speed up missions a lot, since you can pretty much instantly switch between tools on the fly. Also there are new tools like the defibulator, which requires hitting both the triggers on the Wii-Mote and the nunchukc simaltaniously. Another thing we noticed about the game (for better or for worse) was that it is more forgiving than the DS version on certain things, like making stiches. I don't think it was a concious decision on Atlus's part, I think it's just because you simply can't get the same degree of accuracy with the motion sensning as opposed to the touch screen.

I'd definately get Second Opinion if I were you guys, especially if you enjoyed the original TC. From what I've read/heard and experienced, it is more than just a port. But if you don't, oh well, that's one more copy I have a chance of picking up.

ok so Zelda is freaking awsome, but for some reason the game just seems dated.

I had problems with wii sports and monkey ball. For some reason my wiiremote with crazy and my cursor never appeared on screen. This happened to me like tooooo many times, kinda of disappointed.

Madden '07 basically tried to use everything possible to use the wii's innovation, but when you got friends who play ps2 or xbox madden, they just bring the hate, cuz the whole control scheme on the wii isnt that great.

After playing with my friend's wii (haha i joke i joke...) i've gotten the impression that the wii is pick it up play for 10 minutes and put it back down.

For wii sports, bowling blows, rather bowl for real, tennis was pretty cool, until my friend decided that he needed to push me over so that he could actually win a point, and overall the only game truly worth it so far is zelda.

If the remote is having difficulty calibrating to your set up, you can always calibrate it your self. That should fix any problem you have with the remote.

However, there is a rumor going around that the Wii remote can get screwy if a large amount of sunlight is in the room. I don't know how true this is, when I was playing the game at a friends house, I noticed no problems what so ever.

Should probably also make sure that you don't have any other remotes around the TV. Apparently you can use a regular remote in place of the sensor bar, but it has time constraints.

The online functionality isn't entirely there yet, but eventually yes.

My wife and I purchased a points card to buy retro games online through the Wii (although it was $24.99 and it comes with 2,000 points, whereas the cheapest game costs 500 points, so I'm not sure if it's entirely worth it) with our Wi-Fi USB adapter we purchased for our Nintendo DS.

But yes, you will be able to play multiplayer games online. I can't wait for Mario Party played online through the Wii. Not to mention Harvest Moon Online if it's put onto the Wii.

Eh, this bit of info warrants a double post, I think.

If any of you guys are looking to get a Wii, check your local Best Buy on sunday. For some reason they have boxes of them in the back that say hold for 11/26 on them.

Heh, I've been checking out that Wii sports. It's pretty fun, I have to admit. It's all about the new style of game play with Wii, it's kind of a trip. I can totally dig it. Heh, they're almost trying to bring back athletism, it's funny. That's just what our youth needs. Yeah, the motion sensor is cool. I mean you can box, pitch, bat, bowl, all kinds of stuff. You just perform the motion like you normally would, and it does it. I mean, it's still just a video game, but it's definitely a cool idea. The Wii really seems to be going for something different than Xbox and Sony, but that can only be expected from Nintendo.

Honestly, super monkey ball blows, the whole control scheme on madden is stupid, and my god red steel is awful. using the remote to shoot, fine i can somewhat live with that, but the sword fights are by far the lamest shit ever.

Zelda is the only good game.

also a second wii coming out sometime next year with dvd playback... nintendo and their fucking updates.
