I love Halloween when it's placed on a the weekend. The weekdays are pointless in my eyes. Usually, I will have the front yard decked out in crap, like one year I built a 16 ft. tall guillotene (sp) that people had to walk under and then we would drop the blade on them but we had a bar to stop it and it would clang real loud. Heh. And then in the back and in the garage there would be kegs on ice, the BBQ going, and all my friends and family would be completely sauced and that's when you really can scare the living hell out of people.

Heh, I still have people that refuse to take one step in our driveway. ^_^

But this year I just stayed in my room and played FFXII. Fucking tuesday nights....I had school today!!! So I couldn't drink or anything...bastards...They should force move the holiday to the nearest Friday.
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!

I'm going to keep this as concise as I can. Basically the roots of Halloween are in Samhain (Pronouned Sow-En), the pagan festival from ancient Ireland which commemorates the end of the summer and the begining of the winter. It is believed that during Samhain, the veil between the world of the living and the world of spirits is almost nonexistant. The believe that faeries (Prononced Buz-Ka-Shi :kekeke:) would walk with mortal people and attempt to bring them into the spirit realm not only to mess with, but in some cases to father/mother new bloodlines for the slowing diminishing faerie race. In order to scare these faeries away, people would gather and wear scary masks (This is believed to be one of the many foreign origins that combined to become Trick-Or-Treating). So anywho, this tradition kind of moved through some of western Europe and into areas that were in the early stages of conversion from the Catholic Church. In order to make Catholicism more appealing to newly "reformed" Pagans, Catholics moved the holiday of All Saints Day to November 1st (Today) to honor the fallen saints.(The church did the same thing with Christmas, they moved it to conicide with the Roman Winter Solistice) This included a feast on the day prior, which became known as All Hallowed Souls Eve. And through the years it has been shortened to All Hallows Eve and then to just Hallows Eve, and further more to Hallowed E'en and then just into Halloween. The "Modern" celebration of Halloween really got started in the 20th Centruy, and then has become the commercial holiday it is today.

It's just a whole conspiracy by the candy company to sell more candy. Just like how department stores invented Christmas, and drunken cultists invented Jesus.

They probably made this whole background story up, zomg! I'm onto them.

I love candy, and I like getting presents. It doesn't really matter why in my opinion.

And who says no-one celebrates Halloween in Australia? I had kids trick or treating all night, tho' that might have more to do with me living in a yuppy sort of neighbourhood. I'm pretty sure of hearing something about a couple of kids accidentally hanging themselves as a prank last year as well...

Nobody did anything of that sort here. There's of course a Halloween theme operating here mostly advertisements and all, but nobody's really into that sort of thing. There is no trick or treat bullshit experience here.

S'alright, I knew you wouldn't care for it. I just hope somebody who did read it learned something new.

People dont celebrate it here, or atleast very little, from what I noticed. But I was shocked to find retarded kids knocking on my door several times yesterday and today, firstly just politely telling them I dont have any candy because only retards celebrate a commercial holiday thats only done for traditions(and commercialism) sake in North America(you guys should really get better traditions), not here by idiots like you, so people dont prepare any candy to give to dickheads like you.

But they kept coming more and more and I got numb and angry inwards like the Santa in Bad Santa, was tempted to make it a really scary holiday as it made out it to be for them.

Next time buy white candies like Minties and lace them with powdered laxatives. According to one of my former high-school teachers (sad, sad little man) it works a treat.

I hate alcohol now...Too many years of it in excess. Besides, it makes me 10 times my usual evil, cubed. Bad idea (well, minus a couple 'occassionaly')

Me drinking (heavily)=random souls being devoured or vaped' ftw!

Me drinking usually = music being made, someone else's property being peed on, at least a dozen people insulted, and going to Bern's to eat...
