That's it folks, we're in!!

Slightly better game than the other semi, too bad it didn't continued like the 1st 10-15mn. Both teams tried to score early, very nice plays but didn't work, so they went back to a midfield battle. We appeared tired compared to the 2 previous games, maybe they had to take it easy because of the yellow cards or the opponent.

And yeah, that penalty was real. Not a BIG fault, but fault. More obvious than the couple of dives the Portugeses took in our box. I think the referee had instructions, to be honest I found him a little too harsh with the Portugeses. They maybe payed for the earlier events in the tournament.

I don't know why he snapped, as he often does actually. Whatever the reason, it was a stupid thing to do (it looked stupid too...headbutt in the chest!?).

It's too bad because the game was pleasant. At the end the Italian were on their heels adn we were playing well, but we couldn't score, as often. The penalty kick was imaginary, but the ref forgot one in the 2nd period so it's even.

I think we could have won if we didn't start being lazy and cocky right after that PK. Good job to the Italians for pushing after that and getting a well desserved goal. It's like they could have actually won 3-1 or something, but decided to stop their rush. Why is modern football like that?

Overall, I'm sad for our team but good game for the Italians.

Italians wasnt good offensivly but defensivly they were the best. Overall in the WC they were the only team who played good every game so they deserved to win.

I thought they were history cause of thier horrible record with penalties but the extremly good shots showed history is only a ghost if you let it.

Italy was one of the teams that i rooted so i am really happy for them.

France were better through the game but they finaly lost to a stronger team.

I feal so sorry for Trez first he is benched without a reason and despite he is the best scorer and then he is the scapegoat poor guy.

The game was pretty good and a good ending to one of the worst WC ever offensivly but defensivly Cannavaro showed he was the only worldclass player who was on top every game. Clear MVP.

Zidane, i dont care if Materazzi said something about his parents or whatever you dont let down your team in a WORLD CUP FINAL OVERTIME thats just too stupid. The commentators tried to defend him by saying he might have attacked Zidane's culture, who cares in WC FINAL!!!

Meh, I cant blame Zidanne. You ever been in a heated competition in any sport? Things get hectic and the adrenaline is pumping. Even the slightest things can push someone over the edge. Sure we would like to think that these are world class athletes who should know better. But it doesnt work out like that in the real world. I'm not saying that its acceptable. But you cant put all the blame on him.

oh come on, you played football, you do something sneaky. Like after a tackle, while getting u kick him in the balls, or like shake his helmet after the tackle. (of course this is all in the pile where none of it can get on the camera.)

Zidane should have done something better, he is futbol player, should have kicked him in the head, that shows you are power.

Everyone forgets, sport players are those asshole jocks in highschool, they stay the same way when the grow up.

Buz you cant defend something like that cause that game is most important game in any sports and you cant let your team down that way in OVERTIME specially when you are the CAPTAIN.

Specially not when you are a veteran who has endured much worse than what Materazzi said.

Italy OWNED the penalties. The players must have thought screw our bad history in shootouts Today is the to beat the curse, cause i have never seen such greats penaltie shots in WC let alone in WC final.

Brazil is even better for the penalties(they always score 5/5 and Dida is good at stopping them) but they were stupidly beaten by France;
anyway Italy is a good champion, they played their best in every match excepted vs Australia and USA(cause they aren't really playing the same sport 8) ).
That guy won''t give up!!

*lol* awesome gifs.

I was sick of the world cup when Brazil got eliminated. And when Germany was defeated... I didn't even bother watching anymore. Although I'm sad I missed the headbutt. Thank god for teh internet.

Zidane is famous for his temper, isn't he?
