So the 7000/7800 people on IMDB that thought it was at least a decent movie must have no taste in film either?
Yes, but I am more than willing to bet that at LEAST 7,000 people would still have watched it and claimed to like it if it was a 2 hours of CLoud and Sephiroth having sex with each other. IMDB and really any other site where these guys have access to can't really be taken as an objective source.

BasouKazuma thinks that 7000 people on IMDB saying that Advent Children is a great movie means that it really is.
I swear, I could go on for days about this guy's stupidity.
Hahahahaha.
"Hey guys, dis people on the interweb are saying that this movie is great! Then means that it really is, no questions about it!"

Cloud and Sephiroth do have sex in it.Tempest wrote:Yes, but I am more than willing to bet that at LEAST 7,000 people would still have watched it and claimed to like it if it was a 2 hours of CLoud and Sephiroth having sex with each other. You see, the intellectual meaning of the fight between Cloud and Sephiroth is that they really long for each other and no matter what Cloud does, Sephiroth will always be in his heart.
Because you see, Sephiroth's one wing represents sexuality....
And I thought I saw him wearing loafers......

I love you guys.
I hyphenated it for emphasis, i know how to spell it.
My intellect knows no bounds!
Edit/PS: If you haven't noticed, I'm intentionally not taking any position on AC. I only said that the vast majority think it was 'at least a decent movie' which contradicted your judgemental statement.
So you're the one taking it personally.
Reading is fun to mental.

I thought AC had good eye candy, but like all video game to movie format, it had a terrible plot. I didn't know what the fuck was going on. Bahamut did a gigaflare, a direct blast at Cloud and he managed to penetrate that. And the method Cloud used to jump up and reach the dragon was incredibly stupid. By having people throw from tall buildings and in midair, he could somehow accelerate his speed and touch the sky.
Very good eye candy though. But the same could be said about Spirits Within, and I thought that was incredibly crap.
IMDB doesn't mean shit. I've learned not to trust what the ratings there say, and for me, it's not exactly reliable in terms of my tastes. And you have asshats that think they know everything about films and pointing out how this film is an imitation of another, and how this foreign film copied from some Hollywood film, and therefore is shit. Right. The forums there are mind-numbing stuff.

I don't think half the toilet seats in the world are as clean as I should like; and only half of those are half as clean as they deserve. - tsubaimomo, July 26, 2010 3:00 am

Exactly.LordMune wrote:I could've appreciated AC as eye candy had the characters actually had any physical substance. Cloud is made out of air covered in latex, and his swords consist entirely of styrofoam.
If you want eye candy go watch the Incredibles, which has superb animation (arguably the best CG to date) and models that actually have real weight and expression. It's not only that characters in Advent Children float indefinitely either, they're just "floaty" everywhere.
The thing with Advent Children is that it looks "cool" to a lot of people and that's really all Japan has been doing well lately.
The story sucked, the animation sucked, the music was OK I guess, even though we've heard those songs a million times before, but hey, Cloud did some cool things with his swords so the movie is OK.
Hahaha, I liked it! I'm a Sephy fanboy though, so I'm biased. One of the rare things I will admit, heh. I'm not blind though. The story was shallow enough to wade through without getting my pants wet. I would've at least liked the gravity effects to be a bit more percise, heh. You want them to seem to overcome the physics, not just ignore them. Most of the action was great though, but it's hard to go wrong with big ass swords, heh. Although, the ending would've been even more climatic if Sephiroth hadn't bailed so early. I guess Kadaj was just a pussy ass vessel. Unfortunately no matter how you look at it, the movie was still better than The Spirits Within.
