Even for those who disagree, it's almost certainly here to stay (unless he gets even better armor later on, and that would just be silly). As you pointed out, if he was going to ditch it, he would have already (I agree with this point, even if you did try to debunk my fact-based statistics with silly myth-based statistics of your own ).

I can't actually think of any time when Guts acted vulgarly (belching, etc.) in the manga.
Would having a waterfight with a naked Griffith count as vulgar? There was also the time he threatened to burn Farnese ass to escape the Holy Iron Chain Knights.
He's very capable of being "vulgar" he just tends to rise above that attitude.

OK, but I was meaning more stupidly vulgar, rather then vulgar for a purpose (i.e. escaping the knights, deliberately offending someone, etc.). As for partying, yes he did with the Hawks, but I can't think of any time when he acted vulgarly while doing so.
I don't think Guts was ever shown as drunk in the manga, but there are many instances of him drinking. Guts has always been vulgar, but not in a drunk type of way.
How this thread stumbled off to talking about beer is beyond me.
