Is that forum still up?? I didnt look to see the newest posts but from the looks of things its not.
Heres one the Berserk Armor does have a mind of its own it just chooses not to use it, but with Schireke in her curent state is able to bring it out and subdue it before it make Guts do some thing bad very bad.

SK makes a portal to the real world in Miura's workplace and fights with Miura armed with his pencil and eraser, Miura is pushed into the Berserk manga dimension and we get a new character called Miura, and SK continu to draw berserk manga but no one knows SK is not Miura because no one knows Miura's face because Miura always had a skull mask everywhere he went.

No matter what Guts does this seems to be a neverending Loop... Humans will always be "evil" every 200 and some odd years there will be a new god hand, every thousand years someone will be reincarnated. The only way to stop it is for everyone just to get along, and dance around a May pole, with half naked virgins

(I originally was going to create my own topic, but I didn't have enough posts. So I felt this thread would be the most accurate to post under)
I HATE KENTARU MIURA!!!
I know...what you are thinking, you probably want condemn my soul to the lands of flames. Yet, I still hate him, especially considering that Kentaru Miura is a god damn genious!
I've been a fan of Mindwerks for the dedication and works for the translation of the Beserk manga for at least three years now, and I have always enjoyed the amount of intelligent discussion on these boards. Beserk, is a great story of epic porportion, especially the developement and depth of its character, which I personally believe is what makes Beserk so bad-ass. After watching the anime and its...sudden conclusion, I really needed to know what happened, and thanks to great translators I was able to find out what happened to Guts, Caska, and good ol' Griffth.
Ever since Highschool, I've been working on a story/novel about the end of the world and the bonds of friends given the situation. My best friend introduced myself to Beserk during this time, and I was deeply influenced by the amazing trust and betrayal of best friends. I was very jealous of Beserk, considering it was going to be damn near impossible to even match such a masterpiece. Yet, I still continued thinking, and started creating a story about the end of the world based upon the Revelations of John from the Bible. So for the last three years, my idea has been continuelly been changing to become better. Well, I eventually got a breakthrough on my story, and did a lot more research. All was going well, and I truelly believed was walking on uncharted lands in storytelling. I was wrong. This is why I hate/envy Kentaru Miura.
It all started when I needed to figure out a sign that represented the mark of the beast (666), and that led me to symbol of the Labarum (my avatar), which I hoped to somehow configure to appear like the mark of the beast. Historically, the labarum was shown to Constantine (Roman Emporer who allowed Christianity to not be persectued) when he prayed to switch religions if he one a battle against an army 4-10 (differs in sources) times the size of his. He recieved a dream to use the mark of the Labarum as his symbol for victory from "God". Either way, he had his men paint the symbol on their shields, and miraculosly they crushed the enemy. Being Christian, the story really disturbed me, considering I always thought God wouldn't pick sides when his children fought each other. So, if God didn't give the symbol it must of been, most likely, the devil. Well, using the Labarum I added three of them and turned them upside down and realized in a mirror it could represent 666. I was getting somewhere in my story, until I saw my little brothers toy mark of the apostle from Berserk. I quickly became pissed. The mark of the apostle is the PERFECT mark of the beast. Its definitly 666 and it also could represent the translation error of being 616. It allowed Griffth's army to become unstoppable against many odds, and it would also mean that Griffth was the antichrist, which was a HUGE theme in my story. I calmed myself, and realized that not many people would actually see this considering, Revelations 13:18 "This calls for wisdom. If anyone has insight, let him calculate the number of the beast, for it is man's number. His number is 666." No one really actually pays attention to the words of the Revelations. The mark isn't going to be 666 but it's going to be something representing the number, which was creatively hidden within the mark of the apostle.
I really need to finish a final paper right now so I can't finish this post to its full extent, but their are a couple of other passages, which Kentaru has emulated from the Revelations...*tear* which I wanted to use first.
"One of the heads of the beast seemed to have had a fatal wound, but the fatal wound had been healed. The whole world was astonished and followed the beast." (Griffith being ressurected)
"Rev 6:1 I watched as the Lamb opened the first of the seven seals. Then I heard one of the four living creatures say in a voice like thunder, "Come!" 2 I looked, and there before me was a white horse! Its rider held a bow, and he was given a crown, and he rode out as a conqueror bent on conquest." (First seal opened, Griffith)
"Rev 6:3 When the Lamb opened the second seal, I heard the second living creature say, "Come!" 4 Then another horse came out, a fiery red one. Its rider was given power to take peace from the earth and to make men slay each other. To him was given a large sword." (Second Seal opened, who else is pissed off, is usually represented by a fiery animal, and was given a large sword)
"The beast, which you saw, once was, now is not, and will come up out of the Abyss and go to his destruction. The inhabitants of the earth whose names have not been written in the book of life from the creation of the world will be astonished when they see the beast, because he once was, now is not, and yet will come." (Guts was born from a dead body, Griffith was once human, yet returns back to earth, and he returned back to earth to conquor)
There are possiblilites that Kentaru coincidently made his story like this, yet there is far to much evidence, which I'm sorry I can't discuss about untill finish my finals (trimestors). Yet, a month ago I thought that story was going to be unique, and would honor Kentaru by using his genious to create my story, but all I can see is that my story which is seperated half way through eventually runs parallel to Beserk. UGH! Got to hand it to the man, he was writing the story ten years before I even got the idea. Anyways, I hope you welcome me to the boards, and pray that I finish this final paper on time...

Bluemoon: Don't be mad at Kentarou, you ARE original. you didn't copy any of this from this mangaka. Too bad you noticed that he had found it earlier than you, but you noticed it after you had found it yourself. Perhaps he found it by coincidence or much research. You can proudly say you are as genius as Kentaru (in storytelling, not drawing

I just finished my final paper, f(*&ing Multiculturalism in Education! Anyways, I have a quick break, to add some more evidence of Kentaro's.....genious....UGH.

He had two horns like a lamb, but he spoke like a dragon. 12 He exercised all the authority of the first beast on his behalf, and made the earth and its inhabitants worship the first beast, whose fatal wound had been healed. 13 And he performed great and miraculous signs, even causing fire to come down from heaven to earth in full view of men. 14 Because of the signs he was given power to do on behalf of the first beast, he deceived the inhabitants of the earth. He ordered them to set up an image in honour of the beast who was wounded by the sword and yet lived. 15 He was given power to give breath to the image of the first beast, so that it could speak and cause all who refused to worship the image to be killed. 16 (This passage is about the second antichrist. Hm...two horns.......loyal servant.............reminds me of a character who lost one of his horns.)

(5th seal, all the dead by the religous tower where Griffth ressurrects asking for vengance/crazy priest gaining apostle powers)

The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as late figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The sky receded like a scroll, rolling up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and every slave and every free man hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, "Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can stand?" (Sixth seal, reminds me when the black ooze is about to kill all the peasents by the tower/the egg that created Griffith hiding/raising of the giant stone hand)
7:1 After this I saw four angels standing at the four corners of the earth, holding back the four winds of the earth to prevent any wind from blowing on the land or on the sea or on any tree. 2 Then I saw another angel coming up from the east, having the seal of the living God. He called out in a loud voice to the four angels who had been given power to harm the land and the sea: 3 "Do not harm the land or the sea or the trees until we put a seal on the foreheads of the servants of our God." 4 Then I heard the number of those who were sealed: 144,000 from all the tribes of Israel.(takes place between 6th and 7th seal, hm...sacrifice of all those by the tower...a lot of people were killed from all over/the egg coming from the east/four angels...God Hand holding back the ooze.)

And her child was snatched up to God and to his throne. 6 The woman fled into the desert to a place prepared for her by God, where she might be taken care of for 1,260 days. (the birth of Caska's baby dissapearing after being born/Anyone remember how long Guts left Caska? 3.5-4 years?)
Anyways, I really need to get back to work...50 pages of journel entries due in..........3.5 hours.
Ps. Oh and the first 4 seals are supposed to represent the horsemen of apocalypse. They will cause the seven seals to open, thus bring upon the seven trumpets of plagues. I have no idea who could be the 3rd seal, but maybe you guys can.

But yeah Miura certainly has some biblic knowledge with all the christian reference in Berserk, but its asian biblic knowledge. I’ve been reading berserk in English and jap/kor version..
I think English translation is much greater than Korean version.
By reading berserk up to this point, I think the whole picture is changing like comic "SHAMO" ... which in that comic, main character(gatsu) is evil side and the bad one is like a savior(griffth)
Shamo is also a good recommendation for Berserk fans
