I think the recent bull shit have made it a pretty good point that this needs to be reinstated. Voted yes in other words.

Voted Yes.
I say 20 or 30 posts. It is easily spammed up in the "newbie" threads during a couple of days, and by that time you should have learned what to do, and more specifically what not to do.

Exactly.

It was never about scaring n00bs, it was about giving them time to know how things work around here.

well, how about 1 post limit? :P that re-inforces necroing, and prevents the inevitable first bad-post. :P

I miss the days where the regulars would flame the newbies that started threads with thier first post to death. We have become too nice.

10 post limit is enough. I mean, we already have the necessary threads sticky for people to post in. Maybe they will at least look around before they start a thread.

Are you blaming me for the thread getting locked?

And please, don't even try to imply that I'm doing this because of a "thing" for Ashley Simpson. The fact that you think that I'm going out of my way to defend someone I do not know and will probably never know is insulting to say the least.

If your thread getting locked bothers you so much, then PM psi about it.

I'm sure he'll be more than happy to open it up.

It's all Femto's fault, obviously.

Quite obviously.

I'd like to add however that not everyone gets flamed on their first post. At least, I don't think I got flamed...
And really it's a select few that ruin it for everyone else. So although there should be a minimum number of posts before topics, I think 100 is a little much.

That's why I say 10 post limit, quick to reach, and they usually get feedback from their posts quickly as well. This should allow them to post in the appropriate threads.

I may or may not be at fault, but your wrongness is obviously undeniable.

I mean I know we have all seen that thread already or have already answered that question but that's just another part of having a forum. Stuff like this only serves to futher intimidate potential friends from joining. How about we just drop stuff like this rule at least for now?

I am just a lurker here, so I don't think my voice has that much influence in the forum :worship:

Yet in my opinion, a limit for starting a new thread on this particular forum should just limit at most 5 posts. We do not have that much of on-going topics to discuss to begin with.
In clubrsx forum, there is a 25 posts limit to start a new thread, and that forum consists of thousands of members, it has been going really well.

For the pool, I vote NO =)
If a new member starts a thread and it bothers you guys, just lock it (in case you are already too bored to flame). Otherwise, let it live, we will have more regulars and new friends that way. :P

Was it really necessary to bump this thread just to say that?

Of course not.
