I liked the bird colossus. My favorite is the 13th colossus, the flying insect looking thing in the desert, I had the most fun killing it. The Tenth colossus took me a long time to figure out how to beat it, but I enjoyed it once I did. My least favorite is probably the 15th colussus, that damn thing never stood still long enough for me to stab it, so I would fall off and have to climb all the way back up. The rotating hand on the 16th is a bitch too.

ICO didn't really sweep me off my feet and bump my head like it appears to have done to everybody else who ever played it, but moving in on the third Colossus, SotC has yet to disappoint.

Bump:

I'm making my way through this game as slowly as I can- I just beat the fifth colossus, and so far, this is the strongest candidate for best game evar I've seen in a long time.

Favorites so far; Second and fifth colossi, ox and bird.

Oh, and the controls are fucking awesome. So far (again), this game really shows its age (how long was this in development again?)- not in a bad way, but it has had time to mature, in some indescribable quasi-metaphysical way.

Played all the way to my 13th colossus. taking a break. But so far i have to say that its a very fun game. The enfaces on game play rater than story truly works out to this games advantage and the fact that each giant is a puzzle all to himself is quite nice and ads something new at each encounter. As for the giantology thing seems to me like its a possible add campaing for the game, if not well don't hold it against me if im wrong :P

Yes. SotC is not only art in its presentation, like Ico was, but art in its gameplay (which admittedly Ico was too, but not by much).

Ctrl-Alt-Delete is damn funny, but I think I like Penny-Arcade's SotC strip a little better.

I like the PA one way more than the CAD one. CAD doesn't really register a chuckle or a lol'd response from me. A slight smile perhaps, but not enough to make me laugh like PA.

Who's with me when I say Ico takes place quite some time after the end of SotC?
With the horns and black stuff thing. I suppose the horned children of Ico could have been a product of the time when Dormin was still highly alive an kicking, but for some reason I like to think all horned children descended- no, not descended from, but rather that Wander (silly name) added the horns (and the seemingly accompanying black stuff) to the gene pool. How they ever got back from the Cursed Lands is anyone's guess.

Bump.

I bought a few days ago and I beat it real fast.

Basically, it's great, but it's no Ico.

The camera is terrible and I didn't like how they threw the whole story on your lap right in the end. The story in Ico was more spaced out and some of the things they tried to imitate in Colossus didn't work out as well because you were not attached to the characters as much (I'm not spoiling it). Ico is more charming in a way and a lot more engrossing.

It does have, however, what is probably the best, final boss fight in any video game ever. All of the boss fights were pretty good actually, even if they weren't that hard to figure out and were more of a rinse, repeat thing. I loved how epic the game was too. Gameplay in both games is great of course, even though it took me at least a couple boss fights to get a good handle on the controls in Colossus.

Still working on Time Attack.

I overwrote my second playthrough on Normal so now I have to beat it again to get those Time Attack items. Image

I'm to lazy to play hard mode, did normal and its time attack. I don't know which way to actually scale the temple so i'm planning to just get the game to open the door.

How on earth are you going to do that?
As for scaling the temple, diagonal jumping while climbing doesn't decrease your grip circle.

I found a torrent that has all of the songs ripped from the PS2 and thought i should share. This should hold us off til the actual OST is released. The game has some great orchestrated pieces.

I think you may have to sign up to the site before you can dl the torrent.

And here's a direct download sample for you guys. It's the music from the opening scene.

It's a pity this viral marketing campaign never really caught on, seeing as how it's absolutely awesome.

I just edited SotC's wikipedia entry, some moron had consistently misspelled "Agro" as "Argo".
