I'll see about buying this and/or the ps3 once i start to see things like Shenmue3, mgs4, halo3 and whatnot come out for them. Untill then buying either is a no go for me.

- BusinessWeek reported that Microsoft is losing US$126 for each Xbox 360 console sold, the manufacture cost is $470 + $55 for accessories included in the package.

- Shortly after the launch of Xbox 360, there were reports from owners that there are overheating problems on the console, which is likely to do with the hard drive. The console would crash or freeze up with a flashing red lid on the front, indicating the system was overheated.

- Bloomberg reported that Microsoft shipped between 500,000 to 700,000 units of Xbox 360 in US at launch, and all the units were sold in the first day. Microsoft expects to ship 10 million units worldwide by the end of 2006.

- Mistwalker revealed that the Xbox 360 RPG Blue Dragon is currently 40% completed, the game is expected to release by the end of 2006.

Some little tidbits for you guys... There are always problems with the first batch of systems. This is one of the main reasons why I never buy launch systems.

It wasn't the game, it was the system.

Yeah, the first batch almost always has problems. Like the thompson drives in xboxes would stop reading discs. The PS2 had disc read problems, a lot of them would only read dvds. My Ps2 just died for no reason six months after I got it, the screen went all pink. The PSP had dead pixels and faulty buttons.

I have never had any problems with Nintendo systems or my dreamcast and I got all of them on launch day. My xbox is still good too, but it is starting to have trouble reading some discs.

DC was a nice system thanks to Shenmue. I went to my friend that had DC all the time just to play that game.

Interesting. DC is still my favorite system of all time, so its not a bad thing to have so much in common.

Failed? Yes it did, however I still hold that the DC had some of the best games I've ever played.

*pets his DC* Hell, I was even able to run Linux on it... that meant I could run emulators to play all my old cart games and arcade roms. It was a joy to program on.

As for the x-box three-shity, hah hahahah hahahahh ha ha ha! I've played the original x-box console and it was basically a computer meant to run only games running a strip down version of win2k as a developer environment. Yeah, and all the games I played sucked IMHO. When handed a controller, I said "Fuck! Halo was meant to be played with a keyboard and mouse." Truth to be told, Halo was made by Bungie who had previously worked on Marathon... all their games where for the Mac OS. MS bought them... guess what, they had to shoe horn halo to work via a controller and scale down it's graphics so it would run on the x-box. What a horrible way to hamstring a otherwise decent game.

Fuck that, it was a cheap piece of hardware that I ripped its guts out and used as a stackable server. In not buying games, it hurts MS in the long run. It is now a development server in the closet, running Linux.

As for the three-shity, there isn't a game that I want to play on it. From what I hear, people are pissed off. The problem? Faulty powersupply. source

Oh suck! Yeah, because I want my house to catch fire! Screw that noise. Guess for those who have problems, you have to wait for MS to provide Service Pack 1 for the xbox360... ah, the joys of being 'first'. Way to go beta tester.
