Well it was really bad for a horror movie.
The scariest thing in that movie was when the laundry machine was filled with water. Oohaa!! Scary, hell no.
No the only good US remake is gonna be "The ring" for me.
The scene in the beginning when you see the corpse in the wardrobe. priceless. That sent a chill up my spine the first time I saw it

well if u expect scares from doom, ull get more scares from the american remake of the grudge
well jus noting that the rundown was real good, but walking tall was a bit of a letdown, and be cool was a bit of a letdown tool, so i thought doom would really start to put him into the hardcore action actors category like stallone or arnold
Dark Water: Cool movie, nice and well played papers, but NOT ONE DAMN SCARE! The (ever beatifull) lady Jenifer Connely is scared to death, and I would be too if I was in her place, but not a single one watching the movie.
Doom: I wanna see it, since I'm not expecting absolutely nothing from the movie. And I like the Rock. He's funny...he, gay as it gets, on Be Cool was priceless...
I am not even going to bother with the US Dark Water, the Japanese version was terribly boring. Its a damn puddle of water, quit freaking out and get a towel.
Your doing the right thing here Gaiseric.
Its just as boring as "The grudge".
I even saw the original and still I watched the remake.
So stupid. I still wonder why they found dead corpses in the attic in the remake, cause they never explained them

Starnum wrote:So was that the only cool part of the movie? Overall, how graphic is the movie?
if ur talking about gore, yeah it is pretty gory, atleast they got that part right of the game, that its very gory.
it was interesting at first, for like the first 40 minutes or so, but then it was the same old same old. the snooping around was cool, but since doom was pure mindless action, you expect a big firefight soon with the monsters but kept on going on and on with the creeping around in dark areas. very disappointing, if you want more spoilers, there is one that will totally be a turnoff for you guys
I have rented Azumi,The Avaitor and the family have rented Kung Fu Hustle,Layer Cake so its movie night tonight.
I have wanted to see those for a while and now i can except KFH which i saw in the movies but it will still be great to see it again. Stephen Chow is amazing in movies like this.
About Doom i like The Rock so i will see it only for him.

About the fams taste they got it from me. I went my two sisters and Shaka Zulu to the store. Shaka choose KFH cause of my ranting about every sec after i saw it, the sister choose Layer Cake cause i made them by saying how great it was
Gotta go now cause its time for KFH now and the fam are waiting for me.
P.S man stop butchering my name

Pshhh, I thought the original japanese Ju-on (the Grudge) series was good. The first one was made for TV so the acting was god awful, but the story was good.
I liked the original Dark Water too, eh whatever. I didn't even bother seeing the Dark Water remake since i heard that it had almost the same exact scenes ... so i wouldn't enjoy watching a direct immitation like that.
The american remake of the Ring was good, especially since it completely goes off in a different direction than the original, at one point.
What I liked best about The Ring, was the fact that it didn't have a happy ending. Otherwise it would've just been too predictable, you know, the whole "ghost is able to rest because someone helps it out" kind of thing. I'm not sure if the sequel is any good yet though, I haven't seen it. I'm worried it'll just be more of the same from the first movie. Has anyone here seen it, and if so, what did you think of it?

Have to get it soon.

No you didn't.
I expected KFH to be better. The beginning was good, but afterwards, it was too much/too exagerated.
Yeah it becomes almost too much in the end but its also what is so great about the movie.
I saw the extras apperently the movie was about hailing the old too much fantasy kung fu flicks of the 60's that Chow and co growed up with.
After watching KFH a second time i must say sometimes it was better than Shoalin Soccer and sometimes it wasnt. It was better at the pure comedy parts and the action comedy. But when it got too much fantasty as some parts it wasnt better. Despite Shaolin Soccer was about jumping around and playing soccer with kung fu it never got too much.
