That's right, all members of the team get to be one of the Mod Hand, and we're happy to have him.

Well, I believe Saiki didn't want EG using his translations, period. The same goes for Puella's translations too. That was always the real issue between the two forums, as far as I've read.

I'm really glad EG has a new translator in Wandering Mystic, he seems to be really good too. But, is he as fast as Saiki? 8)

Don't let typos bother you... it's a fan translation. If it were flawless, people would print out the episodes instead of buying the manga.

Well when i asked Saiki to use his translations his words were something like "I do these translations for the fans and i dont mind if you use them".As for Puella's translations...

I'd really prefer not to drag this out, but, paraphrase the man all you like, I know for a fact Saiki opposed his work being associated with scanlations. Mizar was even more vocally against them. If you want proof, their posts say as much on SKnet, and I can PM you screenshots of them if you like. As for Puella, she was unaware Orochimaru was associated with Evil_Genius' scanlations, and especially unaware it wasn't for personal use. You can ask her yourself. Furthermore, you didn't even credit her work in as recent a release as Episode 260. How many other releases didn't credit their translators?

Anyway, it's in the past. EG is on a whole new path now, with their own translator, and that's great. It's good that you finally obtained official translation sanction. But, let's not shit ourselves about whose work (other than Miura's) was exploited to build your empire of scanlations.

I don't really see how this helps your argument... If anything, it deflates Puella's sanction of her involvement with you. EG's releases became rampant in that year, obnoxiously so.

Well Oro did say that hes gona use the translations for his releases and she gave the "ok". The fact that she says she was unaware now is her fault.

We know we took from SK.net and I respect the community and their hard work relating to Berserk. We have always linked to SK.net and deferred to them for more information about the series.

It has always been about the fans, we don't do this for money and I've personally refused donations to keep this place running.

Right now, it is a he said she said issue unless the translators themselves would like to comment and make it official.

As for stealing, lets not forget the posting of raws, then the translations for fans. In that respect we are all thieves in the eyes of the law. We count as fans as well, and since sk.net is unwilling to put English to raws, then we will pick up the slack.

You are correct in that the credit pages have been missing for awhile (around 258 ish) now, however it is an open secret that the translations came from SK.net. We have a few threads about it in the forum if you care the search. This has changed now, EG no longer has to take translations and instead is creating it's own.

I'm glad that EG is moving into a new direction as well, and less of an irritation on sk.net if indeed that was what we where. Hopefully the two communities can co-exist even with sk.net's disdain towards ours. I will still forward to sk.net those who wish to learn more about berserk as they have a fantastic encyclopedia of knowledge.

It would be also nice if we (EG) can also contribute to sk.net with our own translations, you know 2 are better than one. This is by no means a 'one-up man-ship', but rather a way to reciprocate for the translations that have been taken.

We're on the same page. I too, want nothing more than a larger, more productive Berserk community, and this will happen as long as we respect each other and our contributors.. SKnet will never close its doors to new translators or contributors, and it would be just as wrong for them to claim ownership over those translations. Hopefully, all the translators will get their due from now on.

Peace.

haha all this diplomatic talk is great fun, I never realised there was so much tip toeing around to be done  . But you know what really get me rolling in fits of laughter is that I have a friend who has this big thing against SK.net, so he only comes on here to get berserk :D soo going to get some sadistic fun out of mocking him  (true best friends). His older bother on the other hand only gets his from thehawks and doesn't like you guys. Did ask him why but he told me to "Shut the fuck up nOOb, I've been reading Berserk long than you" I'm actually someone he like but he's lost all social skill due to being on the Internet for most of his life(Fucking lay about art student  ). I as it stand don't care as long as I get my Berserk fix  <-involuntary twitch, not a wink.

Let me make this clear for the last time and i don't care if someone believes me or not...i had the permission to use the translation, here's saiki's emails *edited* ask him for yourself,he asked me not to put his name cuz he didn't want to get in any legal trouble, that's why i stopped giving credits.and even if they changed there minds i didn't get any notification from them,so how the fuck i am i suppose to know that someone doesn't wants me to use his/her translations.Eg's goal is not to steal someone else's thunder, but to spread berserk through out the community,if i was looking for appreciation,i would have posted my name all over the scan and when i did use my name, everyone got there respected credits for the job they did.I am quiet relieved that that we are no longer relying on SK.net,but it would have been nice if they would have contacted me before stooping this low, very sad.

We all believe you I think.
It's much better with an own translator and we saw how thinks can change through translations in the current chapter.

I think he was one of the Higher Up military officials/noble in the Golden Age ark.

Yeah he was in one of the two nobles that sympathized with Griffith and they where there before the Hawks rode to the final battle of the war.
