What culture and race are we talking about here? These kind of values still exist in many cultures throughout the world(somewhat in my culture too).
atleast they dont want to force you.It depends on how much you want to please them. But the thing about her being hot,you should think about it and see if you can find other reasons then that.Ok that she is hot is a bonus, but its far from a good enough reason to live the rest of your life with someone. It might work it,but it might aswell dont(bigger odds it doesnt, cuz you dont know her).

He means this metaphorically. Seriously. Please.Artezul wrote:You've dated your girlfriend for 8 months? How into her are you?

That said - there's more to the arranged marriage system than meets the western eye. It's also worth pointing out that cultures that encourage arranged marriages tend to take the concept of marital infidelity (at least on the part of the male in the relationship) very lightly. This isn't universally true - but it does tend to crop up, particularly in arranged marriages in Europe.
This culture has persisted to the present day. I've forgotten who exactly it was, but France buried a former Prime Minister recently. The funeral was attended by his wife, and child -- as well as by his mistress and illegitimate child. The four got on famously -- no hard feelings. It's a cultural thing. We Americans tend to place what most of the world would consider undue stress on the importance of monogamous sexual relationships.

A little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion.

You're the Lord of Berserk.
As I said in my opinion at the end it's your choice, your feelings, your thoughts. I don't think we can really help you with this one, we just can say what we would do or what we think is best.
But it's not about us, it's about you.

the pharaohs used to marry realatives, even sisters to preserve the divine bloodline
Inceste, ewwwww.
Well, I could almost understand that since the ruling pharaoh was considered to be a god incarnate, and keeping it in the family was a way to ensure a divine bloodline, but now since we know that neither are rulers gods in the flesh, nor does ones bloodline have as much affect on a person's life (Before someone jumps on me, I know there are many cultures who still believe in the idea, I'm jut saying in terms of Western-ish society), I should think that keeping a bloodline wouldn't be a big thing. Then again this is coming from my W.A.S.P Mutt-ass, so I don't pretend to know or even fully understand the the importance fo this issue.

Regarding the breeding in the Ancient Egyptian royals, due to incestual marriages,or generally cross breeding with relatives, didnt bode well for them and, they got all kinds of mutations and diseases.Like you can see on King Tuts(Tutankhamun) head,a bit deformed and flaten out. They got various other phsysical deformations.

ugh, no comment on that one
no wonder tha pharaohs wore interesting outfit, they were flatheads and probably had a chin that would sink the Titanic
to get back to the seiousness of the topic I dreamt last night about a girl that I loved more than anything else about life (ages ago, and haven't seen her for a while!!!, she's a haunter!), and once again I had to face the fact, that I could only ruin my life if I married someone other than the girl I love(d)
