Maybe you should discuss it with the gamer mod? Who does that job these days anyways?

Japanese 2.0 firmware update has been released.

http://www.playstation.jp/psp/update/ud_03.html

I'm in the process of installing it, but it's supposed to work with american PSPs without a problem, with english text during installation even. The most noticeable change, among other things, is the inclusion of a web browser to the handheld.

EDIT: Posting this from my PSP. :kekeke:

They should make a fight night type game for the psp. I mean it has a pseudo analog. So it should work alright.

Yeah, but that's just because they won't have customer support available for it in the US and they want to clean their hands if some idiot fucks up their PSP with the japanese update. I haven't had any problems with it so far, so it's just a safety measure for Sony as far as I can tell.

Meh, the official US update comes in a couple of weeks anyway.

PS: Shinkiro owns.

Well, they released the update in Japan so we weren't supposed to download it anyway. Sony is just being cautious with their warnings.

Anyways, the update includes:

+ Revisions to strengthen security were added.
+ An Internet browser was added.
+ Go To was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to UMD Video)
+ A-B Repeat was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to UMD Video and video data saved on Memory Stick.)
+ 4:3 Screen Mode was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
+ Audio Options was added as a feature under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
+ AVC was added as a codec that can be played under [Video]. (This applies to video data saved on Memory Stick.)
+ Support for Memory Stick PRO Duo was added to [Music].
+ MP4 (AAC) and WAV (LPCM) were added as formats that can be played under [Music]. (This applies to music data saved on Memory Stick.)
+ Image transfer was added as a feature under [Photo].
+ Wallpaper was added as a feature under [Photo].
+ TIFF, PNG, GIF and BMP were added as image formats that can be displayed under [Photo].

+ Korean was added as an option to [System Language] under [Settings], [System Settings].
+ [Character Set] was added to [System Settings] under [Settings].
+ [Theme Settings] was added under [Settings].
+ WPA-PSK (TKIP) was added as a security method under [Network Settings].
+ Settings for Infrastructure Mode under [Network Settings] were revised to be easier to use.
+ Input modes were added to the on-screen keyboard.

I've put the things I really like or consider important in bold.

It's all the same as far as I know, no matter which version you download.

Just get the japanese update for now, I can almost guarantee you won't have any problems.

I just got Wipeout Pure today and it is freakin' awesome. I'd recommend Lumines as a second choice, but it might not be your cup of tea.

lumines looks awesome, dont get me wrong. i jus wont pay retail price jus for a tweaked-up version of tetris. like for example, midnight club is such an oh-so-fuckin-sexy game, but its a bit more costy than the other games. so ill prolly buy them both on amazon or ebay in the future. im thinking about jus buying FIFA for my 2nd game because its FIFA and i love soccer jus like every other gook. but if anyone has any other suggestions, id really love to hear them.

well im headin to my local gamestop in a few hours. help! i need advice on the leather case or playgear pocket!

Buy Pro Evolutuion Soccer 5 if you like soccer. But i dont know if its out yet where you live.

If you like arcade racing and dont wanna buy Midnight Club as you said Ridge Racer is the thing for you, cause it pretty fun.

well too late, i bought it with wipeout and fifa. fifa is really good so far, not as realistic as winning11, but its still a good game. gonna try wipeout soon.

and i didnt know the pack comes with a pouch, so im going with that for now. i think ill buy the mini carrying pack for my PSP so i can carry additional games and memory sticks and ac adapters all in one

but overall, im extremely happy with my new PSP

I have a play gear pocket and i love it! The only thing i guess people might have a problem with it, is the fact its just a case, the psp is not secured into the case at all, it just sits in it. Though i dont see that as a problem. If you plan to carry the psp in your pocket, the play gear should not be your choice. The PSP actually comes with a soft slide case which is pretty nice i think.

yeah the soft slide case is pretty nice. the playgear pocket also looks very nice too, except i dont think its for me. i think ill jus stick with my soft slide case and buy the mini carrying bag in the future. hey halfnhalf, how long does ur PSP last? im tryin to see if sony tweaked it up since its premiere launch. i think i calculated bout 8 hours for my first charge.

anyway i jus have one thing to say

I HAD THIS ONE DAY AND I LOVE IT! PSP IS THE PORTABLE TO HAVE! NOTHING CAN BEAT THIS SHIT!
