SCIENTISTS have created eerie zombie dogs, reanimating the canines after several hours of clinical death in attempts to develop suspended animation for humans.
...
Tests show they are perfectly normal, with no brain damage.
"The results are stunning. I think in 10 years we will be able to prevent death in a certain segment of those using this technology," said one US battlefield doctor.
Fuck this shit. Resident evil on earth!!! Something is gona go wrong and "we all gon be fucked"
A little philosophy inclineth man's mind to atheism, but depth in philosophy bringeth men's minds about to religion.
-Sir Francis Bacon, Of Atheism <---Did I make this my sig? This shits gay as fuck.
if they are able to do it with humans, it will be evidence that either we don't have souls or souls like to haunt their one bodies for a few hours after dieing

it says that they go into a state of hypothermia before death, which preserves almost all tissue
The more we discover the less we have to take on faith. Who knows, we are only human... perhaps we fudged a few things about this whole God and spirit thing. I find nothing wrong with the future of this technology but as others have stated, it can cause problems with what people believe because it runs counter to their most cherished ideas.
People will still die because of old age. Maybe this technique can slow the bodie's aging, but eventually you'll get old and your brain will deteriorate. They may be able to replace old body parts (ewe). But they won't be able to replace the brain. Unless they find a way for brain cell to regenerate faster it won't work. Brain cells take over 70 years to regenerate.

I am surprised I found it so easily, after the first year or so, Penny Arcade's Archive starts to suck.... A LOT. If is really hard to find some things. There are time's when I think "Oh God! There was a PA just liek this" I tab link (Firefox ) and try to find it and come out empty handed .

LOL... of course you will turn into a zombie in that case. I hope they'll be slow and stupid as in the old Romero movies
but the zombies in the new Romero movie can crazy fast and can use guns... I hope we get some RE zombies.. where they cant walk dont steps, spit out acidy throw up, and have gaint trench coat zombie that carries a rocket launcher...
...now I really have to get that samurai sword I've been wanting to buy...
It's just so crazy...think about it. Earth is gonna get crowded...dictators never die...legal problems with zombie properties...a new wave of racism...
Im pretty sure those damn zombies are gonna want human rights, just like the robots and women.
I bet in the next few years we are gonna just clone the hell out of the perfect chicken and the perfect cow, so that everyoen is eating the same damn meat.
and then there will be a whole new fetish of "clone lesbian porn" have jenna jameson clone having sex with another of her clones (this thread is getting dumber and dumber)
its not like EVERYONE who dies will be able to be brought back to life...only a small segment as they say, but who knows what will also be discovered between now and then
Well, I don't think you can be brought back if you die first. I think they have to perform the procedure before that. However, it will be able to prevent death in some. Man, this is an amazing medical break-through.
I saw Dawn of the Dead last night (BRUTAL ), and this thread came into my mind. I guess it wonQt be a spioler if I tell a funny coincidence:
in the movie a zombie disease spreads like wildfire (from bites) and a bunch of people barricade themselves in a mall and try to survive (which is not easy)
so: the beginning suggests that the disease started by a guy getting bitten by a dog in a dog fight...
OK, not interesting, but I thought I would share this.

Meh, if it inteferes with there beliefs than too bad. We can't stop scientific progress because a few people see it as witchcraft or some damn nonsense. I bet their problems would stop pretty damn quick if it saved the life of a loved one.
