Thats right: http://www.ddo.com/

Man, I would play if they had a Linux client, but still quite cool.

I didn't really look at the site that much, but another D&D based online game is Neverwinter Nights, it pretty much IS D&D online, got the same classes, races, weapons and everything. I don't know how different this it.

Neverwinter Nights is pretty cool, and I still enjoy playing specially with 10+ people on a module or two. D&D Online is a persistant state world, more like Ultima Online than Everquest... or at least from what I gather from the forums. I would be happy to be sign up for the beta.

Knowing you, you would also be rapidly disappointed by the lack of a full pk environment and not being able to loot everything on sight. You'd be happier with lineage 2 even if the don't have pr0n. Daego mustache, greasy hair.

Let's just hope the economy in the game is better than Ultima Online's. I tried playing the game about 4 years ago and the money system was so fucked up I stopped playing after about a month. Mining being the quick way to riches my ass.

Heh, I played UO from 1997 (beta III) to 2000 and I can say it was a lot of fun. I exploited the hell out of everything I could, money wasn't important, only role playing was. The game was for people who wanted to have fun, not level whore or aquire vast amounts of money. The economy was great untill Origin fire Richard Garriot (sp?) the create. Then they started fucking with thy play mechanics and made certain aspects of the game worthless (read useless like thieving). No there is hardly any real-estate left to build your own houses, different pussy servers (non PvP crap), and money is worthless.

Oh well, I have tons of stories of the golden years. :P

i like neverwinter. Get a good module and its alright. The one good thing about it is that DM's can mess with things while your playing. I haven't really played any other mmorpg's lately but can someone just log in as admin and anounce a drow elf raid on the town? Makes for cool events when you are playing to have every player on the server try to save the town from events like that. Plus you can make your own mods, which is pretty nice. lalalaa if i only knew how to script it. If you want to give it a whirl though, my favorite server module is Path of Ascension. It can be kind of difficult, but as long as you have a good team, it's lots of fun. IMO the game is very detailed, and in depth.... and yeah, its made by the people who own D&D.

I only looked at the site for a moment. I guess you’ll have to pay money to play this game?

Yeah, you just buy the game and that's it.

I have played Ultima Online from 2001 until 2003 on an roleplaying freeshard. It was fun but I don't like it any more. I was First Grandmaster Wrestling on the shard.
