Well theyll most likely make Saladin look like a tyrant. But if they really wanted to make it accurate theyd make Richard the Lion Hearted and Phillip of France (was that the king of France's name at the time ...I forgot) homosexuals. Becuase they both were and they were pretty deep into it with each other.
Crusades was a holly war for Christains of ALL europe with muslims and jews who were living in jerusalem. They wanted to take that land cuz jesus was born there not so they can give it back to jews, the main reason Jews left jerusalem because they were too pussy to fight for there own home form the Christains.Buzkashi wrote:There gona make the Muslims look bad granted. However some claim that all in all the Christains and Jews won the crusades since they pretty much control the holy land now.

Well yea I know but what Im getting at is that we dont have as much say as we'd like. Jews are always trying to claim Masjin Al 'Aqsa , and everthing else as theirs. But the west pretty much controls it now. I remeber i forgot when but this French General Goro came up to the grave of Saladin and kicked it. And then he said " Wake up Saladin, we are here. And the war is over." I agree with you for the most part though.

This movie is nothing. I hear Mel Gibson is planning to direct another christian movie.
I was watching the news the other day, and I saw a piece on how Hollywood is seeing potential in religious films because of the Passion of the Christ. If the first few succeed, be ready to see a ridiculous amount of movies based on religious events. Just like Blade and X-Men did with comic book movies, the Passion might do with religion.
And that sucks hard IMO.

I goto films to be entertained and enjoy myself. Passion of the Christ is not enjoyable, it is a snuff film with the blessings of the church. It is twisted and sick. I understand Mel's point, however, to capitalize on someones gruesome death for 2+ hours and say "That is how it happened. God himself told me to make it." and makes millions of dollars of the film is beyond my grasp to comprehend. He has yet to donate any of that money to any charitable cause, other than himself. Bottom line, he is in it for the money, not God. He is exploiting religion.

Same here. I would've never paid to see that.
What I find really disturbing, is some how people are touched by this. Why didn't Gibson make a movie based on Christ's life, on the good things he did, on hope or faith? If it really is like psi suggested, then it was because he knew that only something as violent and brutal as the Passion would cater to american audiences. I seriously doubt, that people would've been moved as much by the Passion if it hadn't contained the brutal death of their "beloved" savior.
The church is a piece of shit for allowing this.
P.D: Don't worry Orochimaru, I think all of us have strong opinions on these matters and, as much as we respect and appreciate this team's work, we will stand up for our beliefs no matter what.

Propaganda movie as usual... the holy knights (usa) will go to jerusalem to cleanse it from the filthy muslims (iraq, iran, arabians etc)
predictable : - )
But if it was true to history then I think how interesting it could be. It wasn't the battlefields itself that claimed souls, mostly it was diseases they recieved under the long travel down to jerusalem.

Well, I made a PWN image with Mel Gibson pointing and laughing at JC, but I got rid of it, just in case I piss some people off. I'll post it if you want.Southpaw wrote:Damn right you are you filthy pagan! God demanded that you line the pockets of Mel Gibson with cold hard cash. So now you will BURN!

Heh, yeah. I hate guilt trips. I couldn't be screwed downloading it though, because I know I'll get screwed by God if I tried to delete the movie from the hard drive.
*washes hands*
Well, this movie sounds like a bad idea. [/opinion without reasoning]

Well, I saw Passion of the Christ and I liked it, not enough to buy it though. I wanted it to show more of his life though and not focus so much on his death.
I dont think Gibson did it all for the money though. I mean, he went around and tried to get studios to fund it but they all said no and told him it wouldnt sell. So he paid for it with his own money.
