While I'm happy to see Rickert and Erica, I can't help wishing it was Guts and crew actually getting to the elf island.

I agree, I'm stoked to see Rickert again (even if he is still looking terribly girly) but I was disappointed by the lack of story development. For 20 pages nothing much happened.

Basically it was a confirmation of how Griffith is using the change to the world (that he himself caused) to strengthen/solidify his powerbase, and position as a "savior."

And I agree that the 'Til Next Time after only 2 chapters was...EXTREMELY disapointing, let's put it that way.

Miura has been barely moving the plot along at a snail's pace and hardly releasing any chapters for... 3 or 4 years now? Hard for me to get disappointed by anything he does really. I won't be surprised when the chapters are just 5-6 pages long and are just sketches of Puck flying around giant dicks. I'll still read them too.

Right.
That's it.
I've been putting this off for far too long.
EG, I really appreciate the quality of the service you guys provide, and I'd like to thank you for all your years of providing me (and many other entitled shits) with good conversation and top-notch scanlations.
But I'm tired of caring about Berserk, and watching the movie made me realize just how fucking juvenile it is.
The truth is, I don't even remember what I liked about it in the first place. I read it now and what I see seems inconsistent, indulgent and pretty fucking stupid. I mean, have you tried describing it to someone else? You'll find yourself talking about big swords and sex and violence, and if that doesn't depress you then you probably have the sensibilities of a shallow, materialistic 15 year old who probably shouldn't even be reading this sort of thing. Once you look at it from the outside, it reads like a particularly degenerate coming-of-age story that revels in its own appeal to the most bestial sensibilities of the reader.

Sure, the narration is fantastic, but the dialogue is often shit and the story has been going nowhere for years.
Every month or so I come back to see if anything new has been released, out of some sort of misplaced sense of obligation, but that's over.

Fuck Berserk.
Miura can go suck so much cock it comes out of his ass and turns into a tail.

Adios.

I see Rolos is at the "anger" stage of his grief over the 'til next time.

Holy crap Rolos

That was the most straightforward post I've ever seen from you on this site. Sad to see you go, but yeah the crawling pace is agonizing now. If I wasn't distracted by so many other things, I'd be over this series too.
Trust me, I'm a doctor!

Berserk still has one of the best and most masterfully done character developments I've ever seen in a comic, and that's my main selling point when recommending the manga to others.

Thank again EG, for the 332 time.

I know you didn't start from 1 but that reflects how long it has been.

Sometimes I just wonder what the manga industry in Japan think of Miura and the way Berserk was dragged on .
