Thanks for the scanlation. I'm almost dreading the last page in fears it'll be another "See you next time!"
Steeples scrape the sky, Praising God.
Everything here exists for God, is sacrificed to God.
For those who have nothing to sacrifice,
It can be a very heartless city indeed.

Wow, has it really already been long enough for berserk to come back? I think I'm getting complacent, I need to practice my bitching about the slow update speed.

Anyway - Thanks guys!

so, the kid must be linked to the moon because of the eclipse right?

Well if the kid is who they are speculating that he is, he existed long before the eclipse. The full moon thing may just be a mysticism thing as many cultures have a notin of increased spiritual phenomena occurring during a full moon.

And in the world of Berserk, the very fact that many cultures since ancient times have believed that a full moon strengthens the supernatural, will make it true.

THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

I'd be lost without your releases!

Though, does this mean that the little kid is just an avatar of the King of the elves, not Guts and Caska's kid? I do have to say, it's nice to see the story actually progressing again.

Hm, I always thought the kid is kjaskars unborn baby which was tainted by Griffith. The full moon thing would make sense there too.

Well, I thought that Guts got Casca pregnant just before the eclipse, then when Griffith raped her his evil Femtoness tainted the fetus, which at the time was like a week old. In the older issues didn't the deformed fetus appear to Guts? That's why I'm confused that this could be an avatar of the Elf King.

Ooooooh, maybe the reason the Elf King's avatar is the kid is because he's got the deformed fetus on the island and the way he's going to help Casca is by reuniting her with her actual child!

I was always confused by the child being Guts' and Caska's kid. If you guys remember, the apostle-behelit comes across the fetus as it's dying and swallows it, which is what gave Femto his physical form

As I understand it, there were always 2 major theories about the identity of this kid. One is that it's the remains of the spirit/soul of Guts and Caska's kid, with basically both the physical body and the evil corruption absorbed by Griffith in his rebirth. A fragment of a fragment that was left over, as it were, which explains both why he can only show up briefly, and doesn't seem able to communicate clearly. Also why Caska reacts the way she does.

The other theory, which it looks like Miura is going with, was that it was the elven king (or perhaps one of his followers) who was astrally projecting in that form, come to take a look at Guts and Co.

Also lending to the former theory was that little scene where Guts, Caska and the kid are huddled together and someone makes a comment about them looking like a family.

It's just a conjecture, take it with a grain of salt. I'm afraid that maybe the kid is a avatar of Griffith. Femto certanly changed after returning to the "real" world. He do feel his hearth pulsing faster when he was around Gats and Caska, even if he denied it. Maybe it was because femto is in the Caska's son body, but he certanly can't truly ignore Gats and Caska now. And i can't unsee the similarities bettwen the hair of griffith and the "body of light" that saved Gats.

I think the boy isn't Guts and Casca's child nor Griffith because he is too grown up for that fetus.
Just like Schierke said, maybe he is an envoy from elfhelm...not so sure though(∀;)

It's all speculation at this point, even on Schierke's behalf.
