Steamboy in Theaters March 18th-25th

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

Steamboy in Theaters March 18th-25th

Post by mrJotaan »

*** Steamboy Starting Soon! ***
Just a friendly reminder: starting this Friday, March 18th, Steamboy will be
powering it's way into US theaters! Steamboy is the latest offering from Katsuhiro Otomo of Akira fame - and with its fantastic visuals and an engaging story, it definitely lives up to his legacy.

The movie will premiere in 39 theaters, and then expand to additional cities a week later. Will it be coming to your town? Head on over to the official Steamboy website and click on "Theater Listings" to find out!

Apparently, Steamboy isn't as good as everybody hopes. I don't think you should go to the cinema with high hopes.

I mean, I coulda seen it already in the cinemas a couple of months ago, but because a friend of mine who watched it spoiled everything for me... :x

I have no idea, but take your chances. It's always better to see movies in the theaters.

The ticket really doesn't cost that much. Watch it in the cinemas offers better enjoyment value. I mean, if you don't wanna, choice to just download it...uhm, which *I* don't endorse.

If it makes you feel any better...

I watched it in the cinemas! :P The cinema which I watched it in was dirt cheap. It was like a half-priced ticket compared to other cinemas, so that convinced me. Dodgy seats though, but that didn't really ruin anything much. Was gonna watch Steamboy until someone spoiled some parts for me. Then, I was gonna murder him....

Well, I watched the movie today and I was not dissapointed, just because I didn't go into the theater with high expectations. The script needed a lot of work, but all the machinery and effects animation was great. Otomo is a great director regardless. Hope he directs a few more movies with better scripts so he can top what he did with Akira, Steamboy is not the movie to do that... Far from it actually.

Considering the amount of time and effort they invested in this film, I expected better. Everyone tells me the plot is lacking, but there's cool as hell CGI and effects. But I thought they coulda done BETTER.
