All news on the Internet is subject to the Rule of Three: if it's not mentioned in no less than three different credible sources, it doesn't exist.

Wikipedia doesn't even count as ONE credible source.

Or starts writing a hugely detailed version of what he believes will be the end of Berserk and spends all of his waking hours. I've submitted a ton of fanfics for contests, but only for things that are done (like Gundam Wing), continuous with separate storylines (Zelda) or prequels (FFX: this one's cool, I translated Al Bhed). I haven't done a Berserk one, and I'm not planning to, I have faith that Miura won't fuck us all in our collective ass. And besides, if he does, he'll be discredited by the manga community for all time and Jump will just get someone else to finish it off, because well, Jump does own the rights to Berserk as its publisher. Kind of like how FOX owns the rights so Star Wars.

One other note, another anime series wouldn't work because they'd have to fuck with the storyline again to make it self contained. That's hugely problematic because Berserk is like the energizer bunny and just keeps going and going. The most that they'd do would be like the video games, and that would be to make an OVA, or a feature. At this point though that might not be a good money making scheme. The whole world has got to be smart with their money right now. Look what happened to Iceland.

I think Young Animal kind of publishes Berserk, and not Jump. Whether or not collectively they are owned by the same parent company, I don't know.

Its finaly dawned on me why the world is so fucked over right now. When was the last time we had a Berserk release? Yeah, exactly! The lack of release has made the world start to fall apart. The economies will pick up once we get a new chapter. I swear this will happen.

On a serious note, look at it from an outside perspective. The anime is done and the manga crawls as Starnum said. Theres no chance that a second season or more will be done. I however do think it possible for a studio to start from scratch and continue past the eclipse, but even that would have to wait a couple decades till we (hopefully) are nearing an end.

And as far as I know Jump has nothing to do with Berserk. Berserk is published in a fine gentlemen magazine called Young Animal. The covers are always girls in skimpy outfits :D

Whoops, I got the wrong company, so sue me. I was about to say Dark Horse, but they're just the translation company.

wow i just started reading berserk a few days ago, and oh man is it good! finally got done just a few minutes ago. i got really sad cuz i thought they didn't publish berserk anymore. well then i found this site and i changed from being depressed to being happy :D hahah

but seriously though, with the chapters being published so incredybly slow, i really can't see myself reading berserk 6 - 12 months from now..and this pisses me off big time because i know that im going to miss out on something really awesome.

but anyway this chapter was really good, it's reaching i'ts climax. but the one thing i'm longing for the most is to see casca regain her senses. i wonder how many years that will take though............... :,(

Let's play the waiting game then. Whoever makes a post right after mine loses.

I want Berserk. Sometimes I forget about it because it's been so long, but then when I do it's like: "Wow another chapter will be so great because it's Berserk."

Yeah, this is dumb, waiting and all, I'd much rather speculate forever on end, and if it never does come to pass that's okay, because then a million and one fanfics are born. I'm comfortable with fanfic ideas personally, but like I said before, I don't want to jynx anything.

Well, whether Miura-san really is obsessed with this Idol game or not, I don't think he would ever stop with Berserk. It's basically the work of his lifetime. Dropping the story now would be akin to Tolkien dropping the Lord of the Rings shortly after Frodo and Sam were found by Faramir and company. It would be... inconceivable.

I can see having to take a break every now and then, a creative pause to let the creative juice flow freely again, just a timeout to play you favorite idol game, go on a holiday, whatever. But he took breaks before this already, for various reasons, but always came back.

I am faithful that we will see the end of Berserk eventually.

Also, if Miura-san suddenly declared "I am bored of Berserk. I will stop being a Mangaka and only play Idol games for the rest of my life" - don't you think there would be a huge angry mob burning down his house, or something similar? :P

Yeah lol about that... If miura someday actually were to say that, I dont think people would do much about it. Those who have read berserk are absolutely amazed with the manga, but those people are few and thats the major problem...Berserk isn't very popular from what I have seen and heard (maybe it is? idk really).

but as I said, those who have read the manga like it suprisingly much. It's rank on MyAnimeList is #1 which is supermegagood considering that there are like thousands of other mangas listed there plus the almost one million members. http://myanimelist.net/topmanga.php. You guys probably already knew this, but I thought it was worth bringing up just in case. Thats pretty darn awesome imo:P

Berserk is still selling very well for Dark Horse. That is an encouraging sign that its popularity is still consistent in USA for Dark Horse.

It's kind of amazing, really, just how popular Berserk remains despite the incredible wait periods it has. Just goes to show yet again how awesome Berserk is.

Memo to self: always check hidden links first.

Especially when co-workers are around when you're supposed to develop stuff instead of surfing some forum.

Even if I hadn't been able to see that that link was actually linking me to someplace other than the URL that the text of link supposedly said, I still could have seen that the date in the text of the link was "2009-04-01." Nice try, though. (-:

True, it wasn't all that believable, but (since I checked it out from curiosity anyway) I must say the way the window bounced around my screen and it wouldn't let me navigate away very easily were particularly nice touches. Well done, War Machine.

Yes, and I noticed that you did warn everyone not to be doing anything important before clicking that, that was nice. Sometimes there's a fine line between a funny AFD gag and sheer dickitry, so it was nice of you to try to minimize the impact for any of us who might have been at work or otherwise in a public place. Ha ha ha! Yeah, I left the date on purpose as a warning for the anyone trying to outsmart me knowing that people would still click the link out of curiosity.

There was an even funnier site years ago (got taken down) that would have someone yell at full volume: "Hey, everybody, I'm looking at gay porn!". Weird thing is that the site later started to infect people with spyware and the like, so the prank got too annoying to use. Still, this prank I used should work very nicely against the current influx of noobs asking about Miura.

Yeah, nice work. I knew it was a trick, but I clicked on it out of curiosity. I was then thoroughly angered at the window's evasiveness and non-willingness to be closed. Great job! At least it wasn't a virus. If you had been some n00b I wouldn't have chanced it. XD

Skullknight.net apparently had a interview sent to Miura, and it was answered by some guy at young animal who asked Miura or something.

http://www.skullknight.net/forum/index. ... #msg166308

This is a great interview. Interesting and refreshing after Waiting So Long.
