The more we see of his backstory, the more you realize just how many reasons Guts has to be screwed up.

Do we know for sure if Miura has any assistants? I sort of wondered if part of the reason it takes so long isn't because Miura insists on doing it all himself.

That's exactly why Berserk is so appealing, it's unrelenting and ruthless at times. The more pain there is, the better the story tends to be or at least Berserk is like this imo. And I wouldn't mind one or two of them having tragic deaths, I just don't think all (or most) of them should die, eclips...
