Re: "The White Tree - Racial Injustice in Jena, Louisiana USA"
The problem of hate crime in some regions it's still taboo. And even if everything is going forward, some will still want to stay frozen in time. I must also say that report doesn't shock me. It's just one example out of other occurrences that got news-worthy. It would more alarming if it happened i...

Re: Berserk: 288 - "Sea Battle (1)"
Also what's the point of being always dark? I mean, Guts, isn't a boyscout (who is anyway in this manga?) but given the protagonist always dire situations and making him face options that will sacrifice something he would value (friend, object, memory, etc.) and to make him torment day after day it ...

Re: Superhero comics and other comics.
Currently reading the new series of "Spirit", released by DC. It's not as good as the Eisner classic volumes back in the time reading comics fell really good, but it has fresh funny dialogs with a bit childish art (not that it is bad).
Eisner would like this.

Re: Berserk: 288 - "Sea Battle (1)"
We are in Berserk so I don't think any of the pirates will survive this fight unlike those in Asterix who always end on a raft, nice comparison anyway. Thanks for the chapter EG. Not saying that they will survive like those poor slobs in Asterix. I Wonder if they don't end surviving, like a recurri...

Re: Berserk: 288 - "Sea Battle (1)"
Oh, those pirates are funny. Kinda remind me of well know french (or was it belgian) comic. Maybe the american part of this board didn't even heard of "Asterix", but this was one of those titles that we europeans still hold in joy (alongside with "Tintin", "Spirou", etc...

Yup that's one thought that jump top mind when joining "buttsex" and "Berserk" in the same phrase. The others thoughts don't have anything to do with Miura's work, I'm afraidpsi29a wrote:Donavon anyone?

Re: Berserk Cosplay
Making fun of non-native speakers is bad. Buttsecks is a wrong spelling for butt sex, which stands for anal sex. Anal sex is taking it in the ass. Butt sex is sometimes associated with not willingly taking it in the ass. Do you need more explanations? Ok... Being a non-native doesn't mean my compre...

Re: Berserk: 287 - "Bubbles"
Not really an ending. We know that Miura isn't computer friendly and he does everything by hand (this remark sounded so bad right now). So when he "delays" it's pretty much because it will be more detailed (which also means more time devoted on drawing like he wants), and of course if he s...

Or maybe the seagull just come to sea to die.
Or more probably, it's just there because it was need to lure Casca to that location. Remember that Miura isn't God and he might slip. If even Tolkien made a slip or two with his middle-earth saga, we can cut some slack with Miura.

Re: Most disturbing image(s) in Berserk (or other manga)
Search for "laughing Vampire" and anything of that mangaka, specially the anthologies. One of his stories even had an anime adaptation, which was later banned because of it's violent content (so there's no realease to purchase, if i'm not mistaken). With some luck you can still catch the m...

Also they aren't very successful with the banning. Mostly local banning, but anyone who is smart enough in the end gets what he wants. Also part of their reasoning is contradicted by the same book they follow. If they are using the Bible we all know and some follow, and i mean the big book and not s...

Re: Most disturbing image(s) in Berserk (or other manga)
Yes, but somewhat it's to be expected. I mean it would be a lot disturbing find this in, let's say, Doraemon that on Berserk. Per example the amputed scene or the girls with plants on their brains in MPD psycho is more unexpectedly gruesome that this scenes of Berserk. It's the Dark Ages, this type ...

Re: Most disturbing image(s) in Berserk (or other manga)
Actually i don't find it so disturbing. But is more because I'm mentally prepared for what i will get with this title, specially when it's called "Berserk" and the firsts panels shows our hero having sex with a demoness, which ends with a "bang" (more like a "Kabum" or ...

Re: Berserk Stupid theories
That pretty means the end of Berserk. Because if Guts die, you create an hole in plot that hardly you can continue from and he's death doesn't allow motivation for another one/group/kingdom to follow his steps in fighting the Apostles (also if that happen it become like a very well know shonen title...
