The pirate boss reminded me of a character in SpongeBob SquarePants...
The Flying Dutchman... no? I guess not...
Anyways, thanks to Miura and to the ghosts of EG for another great release. September 14th can't come any sooner.

Re: New to the Berserk Forum? Have questions? Post Here First!
Here's the original:
So, just the border then? I don't see why they'd change it, but as long as the artwork's intact I'm not too fussed. The problem with Dark Horse's covers is the Berserk logo, which is just terrible, imo.

Re: Berserk: 287 - "Bubbles"
As for the plot - I am under an impression that Miura streched that last part about Griffith a bit to take same time and think over what to do with Guts what will happen in elfhelm - as we know - there are countles theories on this forum only - I think Miura had even more ideas and simply wanted to...

Re: Berserk: 287 - "Bubbles"
I agree with Eldo there. My interpretation of "filler" is an episode/chapter which lacks character development, and/or one of content that has no bearing on the main story. On those terms, this was not "filler" at all. People are just getting impatient for Elfhelm, methinks. On t...

Re: Berserk: 286 - "All Aboard"
I don't actually think that the mere intention is enough, the actual sacrificing part is important too. If you look, during the eclipse we see several scenes of Griffith's body apparently being shaped/transformed by the spirits of the Hawks who are dying. My guess is just that he had so many sacrif...

Re: Berserk: 286 - "All Aboard"
I'm assuming that the next chapter will be them arriving in Elfheim. Gutts and Casca both seem to be focused on something on the horizon and Casca even lets out an ''Ahh!'' at the end. Yea, it kind of looked like Caska was trying to say something (other than the usual bollocks)... perhaps, "La...

Re: Berserk: 286 - "All Aboard"
I feel compelled to say something about the artwork in this chapter. In general, it was nothing short of outstanding (as always), but the ship on the second/third page had me staring for, like, half an hour. I can only imagine how long it would take to get that image of depth and detail. I'm not ent...

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
Farnese,Serpico and co sure had alot development when they were new but storywise they are usless. They dont mean anything to Guts. Sure they are suppose to be friends but not really. They just hang around him. They didnt make Guts change as The hawks did. Which is why i adore the hawks. There were...

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
And? Or was that it? Yeah, I think that's pretty much it. That was all that was needed. My point was that there has been character development and plot progression where you said there was none. Point proved. I cant believe there are people comparing the hawks to the new band...... The Hawks made y...

Re: Creationist Museum Opens in Kentucky
That video clip looks like it was pulled right out of the eighties. Still, it's a simple yet effective presentation that even a creationist could understand. Or maybe not, seeing as there are similar arguements happening today. "If it's too complex for me to imagine, then it couldn't have happe...

Strange Customs...
I got a few laughs out of this: - In Lebanon, men are legally allowed to have sex with animals, but the animals must be female. Having sexual relations with a male animal is punishable by death. (Like THAT makes sense.) - In Bahrain, a male doctor may legally examine a woman's genitals, but is prohi...

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
You can tell me every single thing that has happened since they set out for Elfheim but the fact of the matter is that not a single event of true significance or character development has happened in the story as of this point. That's a pretty ignorant statement right there. The character developme...

Chariots of Fire comes to mind... and now the countless parodies that followed it.Femto wrote:Of course, a huge part of it is probably how well the soundtrack is ingrated into the movie.

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
Why are they not in Elfheim yet? Well for starters, when they were told about Elfhelm they had absolutely no means to get there. They travelled to the Holy See where Farnese asked her father for a ship, was refused, and they've been sidetracked by Ganishka's efforts to trample the place ever since....

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
The artwork itself has degraded in my opinion. It was at it's peak just after the Eclipse ended (the Roshinu fight and whatnot). So much boldness. There have definitely been moments beyond the Roshinu fight where the art has struck me as bold. Guts' battle with Grunbeld is a prime example, and more...

Re: I read the last few chapters of Berserk in bulk...
What about all those crazy Void/Gaiseric theories that have seemingly been dropped from the story altogether in favor of characters nobody really cares about? Who? Guts and Griffith? Totally insignificant, I know. Berserk has jumped the shark. I've read a lot of old threads in here, and I've never ...

Re: Best movie sountrack?
My vote goes to The Good, The Bad and The Ugly. Fantastic soundtrack. Ennio Morricone is a genius. Yes, he is, and For a Few Dollars More wasn't too bad either. In fact, I enjoyed it more than The Good, The Bad. I'll never forget the final scene with the musical pocket watch. That said, my vote goe...

Creationist Museum Opens in Kentucky
The world's first creationist museum, which tells visitors the Earth is only about 6,000 years old, has opened its doors in the American midwest. The Creation Museum claims dinosaurs such as Tyrannosaurus rex lived alongside ancient civilisations but were strictly vegetarian before the Fall of Man ...
