It's a constantly tossed up supposed fact that is mentioned on Skullknight. When I frequented it and Thehawks, there was constant mention of an interview and Miura stating Berserk *would* have a happy ending. If I were to find the article itself, I'd have to wade through those hectic forums =\ Here'...

Miura said it'd be a happy ending. He won't kill Guts or Caska. After all the trouble they've gone through so far, it'd be rather irritating if he did that. Ippo's artwork matured a bit but still seemed to hold onto its old look somewhat. Partway getting used to it and partway his changing minor things that add up.

Amen to that. Ippo is as good as Berserk =\ Different genre entirely, though. But the research on boxing is incredible. Seems like Rumiko Takahashi's "One Pound Gospel" tried to do something like it. But looking back, it paled horribly in comparison. Plus, 63 graphic novels of Ippo is good...
