Hellsing OAV

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

I don't know, or rather, I haven't bothered looking into it. It's not as if Hellsing is all talk.

Yeah. Bakafish picked it up from The Hellsing Project, and yesterday they were simply waiting on a check on their translation from a member of that same group. They were planning on a release yesterday, but they're saying it should definately be here today. I'll post a torrent link when it comes up.

[ON-F]_[KLF]_HellSinG_Ultimate_OVA_1.avi

However, considering the file size is 100 meg less than the raw (both AVI), and coupled with the funky capitalization of "Hellsing", I doubt I'll watch it.

EDIT: It's also in French, apparently.

Maybe bakafish's will be better. And in English.

Here you all go:

Hellsing OVA I

Normally you have to register on their forums for this link, so hopefully I don't get a lifetime ban or anything for posting this outside of their forum :).

I've watched the first five to ten minutes of the OVA (will watch the rest this evening), and the only real difference I noticed to the first series is that the ghouls actually look different. that was one of the main drawbacks of the first series, the animation was so crappy.

I thought this shit was awesome!! Great to see Hellsing taken more to the manga and I loved the animations. The music was awesome too. Not saying it was better than the original hellsing anime because we all love the track taken from a godzilla movie. (Godzilla fanatic ^_^) I hope they keep it going. Is there a subbed version? I didn't see it but I've read the manga so I knew what they were saying the entire time anyway. ^_^
That's right!! Another pointless post by me bitches!!! HA!

The link I posted is a subbed version in mkv format, so it comes with soft subs you can load in the player you use to watch it.

As far as if there will be more, Hellsing OVA II is slated for an "early summer" release. I've heard April 5th, but who knows if that's right since it came from a third party site and the official site lists it as early summer.

I enjoyed this first episode a lot. Much more than I did the first 3 episodes in the original series (which is what this 50 minute OVA seemed to cover). I liked how they gave more backstory on Alexander Anderson, and how they explained why he was dispatched. Having not read the manga and only seen the first anime, it's somewhat of a mystery why Anderson is just suddenly there. But here they tell you that it's a border skirmish.

You do know that Bakafish, together with the Birds of Hermes, released a Higher-Q version of the first episode ages ago, right?

the thing is i have never heard of that group.
so i d rather stick to a group that i know is good.

but since you recommended them, i will probably see how good their fansubs are.
=)

Bird of Hermes is probably the best Hellsing scanlation group out there.

Aye, and from what I've seen of Bakafish (The OVA and some retarded semi-joke sub of Naruto), they time their subtitles quite well.

Bring this topic back up to the top, as according to the official website Hellsing OVA II comes out today. I hear it's only a 35 minute episode, so I doubt we'll have to wait very long for a group to sub it.

JESUS CHRIST ON A BIKE

EDIT: As the News section (official site) states that episode 2 is in production, I believe 2006.08.04 refers to the fourth of august, and not the eighth of april.

I hope I'm wrong though.
