There's a new teaser trailer out today, showcasing what seems to be updated shaders, really colorful character designs, and a new logo. Kentaro Miura is listed as something like "supervisory director", and this is the first time he's credited as anything beyond "original creator" in any adaptation. I'm taking Serpico and Farnese's vivid colors as a sign of his involvement. There's also a snippet of Susumu Hirasawa's insert song Hai Yo ("O Ashes") in there.

Shiro Sagisu (Evangelion, the recent Berserk films) will be returning to compose the actual soundtrack.
9mm Parabellum Bullet will be performing the Opening song.

It will air (and be simulcast by Crunchyroll) in July this year, with the principal voice cast of the movies returning.

The CG looks a little better in the new teaser. I mean, it's a still a shit sandwich (I'm looking at you, poorly animated Isidro), but at least it seems to blend in with the 2D better.

EDIT - You know what? I take it back. After watching it a few more times, I think it's looking totally watchable. I'd need to see more, but I'm going to be cautiously optimistic about this one.

Well the cg will have its quirks. I've learned watching the latest few cg animes like "Kingdom", "God Eater", "BBK/BNRK" etc.. That the cg isn't on par but at least it's getting there.

So there is a new TV series coming out in July?

I hope that first CG trailer was just for show and will not be part of the series... Cause it looks awful.

Nice looks good to me better then the last series.. I reserve the right to see it in its entirety before making snap judgments on it... as long it is more than once a month or twice a year I will enjoy it

Yes tv series should be a better format I hope, but it also could mean that it will be dumbed down to be on tv... no titties, no apostles that look like a guy junk... so not all bad

Yeah, that's a good point. I hope they don't hold back too much. I wanna see Berserk in all of it's graphic horror.

It should be fine but you never know... it seems like some time when the source material is great the product pales in comparison... like most comic book movies

The original anime wasn't perfect either, but I watched it 6 times AND it got me into reading the manga (and manga in general). So I'm really looking forward to this.

Your right it wasn't perfect but it was the first thing I saw of Berserk so I didn't know better... and I cried like a bitch at the end with guts getting his whole world ripped apart and was mad as hell when the fucking anime ended with no resolution. Then found the manga and read the shit out of it had to wait what felt like 50years for the hawks scans to come through over torrent then found EG and I have been here ever since

But now that I know the source material it is going to be a little bit different, I just hope they do it justice... and no fillers they throw fillers in there and I will fly to Japan and find those anime making SOB's and tickle them to death cause that is what they would deserve

It really looks watchable. But if they AGAIN stick to the first fucking Arc only, I'm going to nuke them.

Well I agree that they shouldn't even touch the first arc again except for maybe Wyld's scene which would be nice but unnecessary... And the reason for the quote is that it fits berserk to a tee that and the anime might be Japanese but the subject matter is most definitely European.

It mentions 2016-07-02 for episode 1 & 2 ?

There have been tweets about tickets to a "talk show" that will include a screenings of episodes 1 and 2 and interviews with the cast, on July 2nd. I assume that's when it'll be recorded? Didn't see anything about air dates. Chances are it'll air after the second episode (July 8th).

Glad it is coming out soon... now maybe Miura can get back to writing and drawing again

2D art was severely downgraded, 3D is better, but overall the entire thing just looks worse.

Its not the artwork that bothers me it the non-fluid motion of the animation... I have been watching God Eater and they do something similar... I just hope it is better than the other berserk movies
