Wonder how much time has passed (from the story's perspective) since we last saw Guts?

How much has Guts recuperated?

I'm more baffled by the announcement on the first page where it says "Gut's complete recuperation is at hand."

Was that a pun? At "hand", get it?

Nah, it should've been "Gut's recuperation is in arm's length."

There have been people speculating that Guts may get his arm restored via some miracle on Elf Island. Not saying that they are wrong but I seriously have trouble imagining (or accepting) that Miura would resort to erasing something that has become symbolic of Guts and his plight.

Though perhaps the merging of the supernatural with the natural, it wouldn't be too much of a stretch to see Guts developing some sort of physical/neurological control over the appendage such as feeling and controlled movement.

Miura's such an ass. He's gotta know how pissed off his fans are at the long waits, in the middle of the chapters there's an address where you're supposed to send in your thoughts. I can't imagine how much hate mail he gets about that.

That note is in each chapter since, I dunno, about a year?

Also, this chapter could definately have used more Guts, although the suspense is really high right now.

you really didn't like the chapter? I'm surprised, i loved it (even though we didn't get to see Guts much).
Just the possibility of a ghost ship (and not justpossessed people, etc) is really nice... But I wonder how much damage it will do to Roderick's ship, afterall... And there are those big guys too :s
And the recuperation of Guts, man, I'm happy for him :D

edit: Also, Farnese's reaction to the duo's work is priceless haaha

Sorta nostalgic to see the old crew again, had to shake some cobwebs loose just to remember who everyone is. A re-read is definitely in order of the whole series up to this point, so much time has passed since i've read the bulk of the story. I know I can't be the only one in a similar predicament.

What's with all the hate, Herald? I mean yeah we didn't get to see Guts in action but it's not like Miura's dropping off the face of the Earth. I think we got about 2 to 3 more back to back chapters before we gotta wait a while.

This chapter was awesome, even though it wasn't as epic as the previous ones.

The hate has to do with all the waiting, honestly. Yes I enjoy his over-the-top renderings, makes Berserk one of the few mangas out there a worthwhile buy. But making people wait months between a couple measly chapters to read them, well, what the else hell is he working on? Nothing I bet. And if it were about him trying to create more story, well, at this point you'd think he'd have more ready by now. I can understand putting a lot of work into making that whole fantasia thing make sense, but now he's onto the more simple stuff, all pure imagination.

But at the same time it's one of the best pieces of current literature and that's why I care so much about it to be so annoyed. Thanks for the release EG.

Miura's a cheeky bastard isn't he? Well who knows what he does during those long breaks, supposedly research and development of his manga. I'm inclined to believe him though, because I don't think I could draw Roderick's ship or Griffith's amazing new kingdom properly, even if I had a whole year to do it. :P

Can't pretend I'm in love with the long waits between chapters, but at the end of the day Miura doesn't owe me anything and getting all bitchy about it won't make the waits any shorter.
