yeah the news just announced what he died of. I think that it was a cocktail of painkillers anti-depressents and sleeping medication two of each I believe. The reason why, apparently, is that the role of the joker got to him mentally, which I think he was just being a ween in all respect.

I seriously doubt it was the role of the joker that 'got to him' as he finished the movie and was working on another. Many actors are on meds for insomnia and other things such as depression. He just fucked up and crossed his meds wrong. Simple as that. At least he'll go out with a bang rather than burn out when hes past his prime.

The drugs the Oscar nominee consumed before his body was found in the bedroom of his Manhattan apartment on January 22 included the painkiller OxyContin, the anti-anxiety drugs Valium and Xanax and the sleeping pills Restoril and Unisom.

"Heath Ledger died as the result of acute intoxication by the combined effects of oxycodone, hydrocodone, diazepam, temazepam, alprazolam, and doxylamine," Ms Borakove said.

OxyCodone and dihydrocodeine are opioids which are of the same class as morphine, although the latter is more mild and used in cough suppressants. However, there are potential drug interactions like overdose, as they are in the same class of medications. While diazepam, temazepam and alprazolam are forms of the same drug but with different properties, when used in combination could result in respiratory depression as they have the same mechanisms of action. Doxylamine has sedative effects. So yeah, he had a whole cocktail of drugs. I'm not quite sure how he managed to get his hands on OxyContin, since it's a pretty hard core drug only for the worst of pains. Now, with the diazepam and the others, that's a really deadly combination right there. Why his doctor or pharmacist didn't know of this is beyond me.

But yeah, could you believe that the Westboro Church is picketing and protesting his funeral? I mean, what the fuck, man? Those people are crazy, I just listened to an interview of one of the people there, and it's fucked up.
