Its confirmed that we will play only as Solid Snake. After MGS2 Raiden wont be playable, thats one time thing to show how great Snake was compared to Raiden.

You must be the only one hoping to play like Raiden and not Solid Snake.

If you are a MGS fan you must play MGS1 its much better than MGS2.

MGS games are my game series by far and i await every new game with so much desire for them. Solid Snake is the coolest.

We probably won't play as Raiden (much), considering Kojima über-ninja'd him out.

If Kojima doesn't finally kill Snake off in this game, I am going to be pissed.

You are definitly the only one that will pissed if Snake dont die.

Myself i dont wanna see Snake die until they make a good replacement.

Since Kojima hasnt said this is the last Solid game, i dont think he dies in this one.

I didn't like raiden's personality in MGS2 but I liked his part much more then snake's(raiden was the whole game basicly). His somersult just looked more useful then rolling over a sleeping guy, shouldn't I wake him?

I wouldn't mind seeing Snake die in this as well. But this is coming from someone you gets tired of seeing Mario because he had like 20+ games. Can't he fallover with food poisoning with the mushrooms?

Its good that Kojima has made Raiden the new ninja cause that means that my fear of Raiden replacing Snake was unfounded.

Raiden is alright character but he isnt good eough that he can be the hero of a MG game and carry the series as Solid Snake has done.

Well look at it this way, this is Kojima's brainchild and he has put alot of himself into it, but it frustrates him to no end. Why? Simply put, people only know him for his metal gear solid games. He seems to have a sort of love/hate thing going on for his creation. If he ends the story line by making sure solid snake wont ever come back, that would mean a sort of freedom for him to just plain move on to other games or ideas he has. Hopefuly the fans will understand this and wont feal to alianated because of the death of a beloved ( dare i say, legendery? ) icon. Basicaly im of the opinion that Snake will probably meet his end in this game, just not by suicide.

I'm paraphrasing here, but Kojima said he doesn't want to make games for the PS3 anymore.

Something along the lines of it taking to much time and resources to make high resolution graphics, time that could be spent on the actual game itself.

I'm not looking forward to a Metal Gear game without Kojima at the helm.

A game, like pretty much any form of entertainment, can only be as good as the people behind it, a good franchise/character will only carry you so far.

Don't forget, it's not only Kojima who will be leaving but his close team of game developers as well, including Yoji Shinkawa, MGS' lead character/mechanical designer.

Heck, Kojima Productions itself might not handle future MGS games at all.

Kojima said his team will take over after him when he leaves.

Maybe not Shinkawa but the others he trained to take after him.

His team came up with most of the ideas in MGS2 so if they take over after im not worried.

Kojima is great but he is not bigger than MG series if he lets good people take over after him all the fans will look forward to games as usuall.

To everyone who's seen the recent MGS 4 trailers.

All those who thought Raiden was ghey just got fuckin banana PWN'ED, bitches! Raiden is clearly Snake's successor, and I'm sure this is the last game we'll see him in.

I wouldn't trust a MGS not at least made by Kojima's team.

What are you saying? You woulndt trust people that have three straigh MGS games?

Raiden will never be his successor, him being a cybor ninja took care of that gladly

Snake's replacement must someone very cool ala Snake not someone like Raiden.

Plus plotwise it would stupid to let the new Snake run around in two MGS games instead making a suprise debut in his own game.

OMG to all those who think raiden is a successor you just got impressed by a simple cinematic sequence . If kojima wanted he would have made a 10 time better sequence with snake like dodging nade jumping mid air headshot 200 metters in some nub sniping soldiers in a tower or simply trow some explosive on moron robot .

from my point of view , i think raiden is the mystic cool guy emo with black mascara that everyone gonna like cuz he make some well timed appearance always wipping some ass . He just got no charisma i hate him and im pretty sure he got a wireless dildo inside is costume .

You don’t think that I know that Snake is just as bad ass as Raiden, if not even more so. He’s definitely a bit cooler. They're always more amazing during cutscenes. That’s my fucking point. I don’t know anything about him getting cybernetic implants, unless you’re just referring to the ninja outfit. That’s probably his own technique. Which gives no reason for why he couldn't be the next in line to lead MGS. Who better to replace Snake than another, younger, bad ass, super human like warrior, such as Raiden. Oh, and Finito, you’re a hater. Raiden would chop your ass to pieces, and has more charisma than you could ever dream of, and he has practically no social skills to speak of. At least he has a deep and meaningful reason for his handicap…so just go take your bitter bullshit elsewhere. Screw the rest of you Raiden haters too, I think he's cool, so I don't care what you say, lol. In any case, we'll see how things go. Even if he doesn't replace Snake, he's still bad ass. If you guys don't like him then whatever, that's fine. I just thought that his new style might finally shutup some of the people that were hating on him, but I guess not *shrugs*. Did you ever play the game wow ! You can clearly see him talk for more then 2 hours in MGS2 . And its in this game that you control raiden , its true is move are cool but i felt like the game was empty , why simply cuz he had no charisma exemple theres a cut scene where raiden see an enemy he simply walk and chop him with a blade . Instead if it was snake you would see snake walking like nothing bother him trowing a porno magazine on the floor and break the neck of the guy and say like tsss green .

Raiden is Snake's Padawan and learn everything from him . I dont recall seeing snake showing him how to put lipstick for camouflage usage .

Exactly he has a decent video and people think he is suddenly cool

Snake doesnt need jump around like an idiot to be cool

Thats why i dont like him iether he has zero charisma and that people actually think he will take after is unbelieveable cause Kojima arent stupid enough to make him the new Snake.

Raiden may not wear mascara but he is sporting some footwear that's a cross between high heel shoes and Tabi boots.

Man the ninja fight in MGS1 was sweet Gray Fox is a legend.

Hopefully Raiden can atleast live up to his name.
