Blade of the Immortal

Post by Brainpiercing »

Just to deflorate this virginal section of the board, I thought I'd open with this one, because it totally hooked me.

For people who haven't read it and are looking for something while waiting for the next berserk, definitely check it out. I'd recommend getting the volumes and chapters from emule, if you want to download, because I haven't found zipped volumes on the net.

Also, can anyone tell me whether 95 is the latest chapter so far or whether there are more out?

ah, i c you checked it out. so, continuing our discussion on artwork, is it comparable to berserk or at least really good?

Definitely very good. I like berserks darker style a little more, because it opens way more possibilities for contrast, but the quality of the drawing and the images are very good. The fighting sometimes gets confusing with lots of lines and no huge dragonslayer to follow, and sometimes the fighters passing each other is a bit surreal with the anime style fighting.

I'm mostly hooked to the storyline, though, and the great characters.

Well, I was hoping for someplace like here for berserk, but since it's everything i've foudn on the net was darkhorse translations, it seems there are no fansubbers, at least not anymore.

I haven't found a site that provides torrents for this, at least not lots of volumes.

I read the first part online, at this site: http://groups.msn.com/ATU-BOTI

but it gets really small, and it's hard to read. Then I just used emule, was the easiest and quickest way without searching around the net for ages.

yup, its good, but i completely agree with it getting confusing. I had the same thing with blame, but i still liked it. Yeah story's good and so are characters. Damn, some of them can be ruthless.

zilo: you can also try dc ++.

So is this on the same level as FMA, and Berserk story line wise?

Hell yeah, Blade of the Immortal is one of the best. It's definitely comparable to Berserk. In fact, it's in my top ten, and my list is over a hundred something. It's just a few entries below Berserk, which holds the number one spot.

By the way, haven't you guys noticed that you can get up to chapter 94 from EG?

You won't regret picking this one up. ;)

You know, one day I was trying to think of a way to kill Manji, and I finally came up with it. Anyone want to take a guess. By the way, that poison that kills the Kessen Chu doesn't count.

I like the way Manji isn't actually a really good fighter himself. As he says in the beginning, since becoming immortal his swordwork became sloppy, but he still hangs on. That's really the only risk, getting cut to pieces due to carelessness.

Yeah thats cool, cuz its typical for anime and manga to have potentially strong, if not already, main characters.

BOTI is awesome!!! One of my top 10 mangas. :D

I bought volumes 14 & 15 last week and I must say that story and artwork still keep improving with every chapter.
IMO the artwork is evn on a par with Berserk.

hmm... Throw him into a volcano (incinerate him); cut his head of and put it into a small box, so that he can't regenerate his body again; feed him to an animal (I don't think that the Kessen Chu remain bound to him if they go through another creatures digestive system);...

I wonder wether he can drown, suffocate or die from starvation.

BOTI is on the best mangas i have read, one Berserk,Ippo and Vagabond are before it in my top ten list.

Manji is extrem badass and as some of you guys said it , i really like how Manji isnt all that powerful.

The drawing is the best i have seen along with Vagabond manga.

If you dont read this manga its a must specialy if you like samurai mangas.

ok, so where do I find 96 and on? It's ok in a way, since 95 doesn't really finish with a cliffhanger, but I'd still love to get more
