I don't think Kei will let people die. He's adopted some leadership from his old friend. He actually changed atitudes to life and his behaviour. He's telling people to put on the suits and also warning the newbies about leaving the vincinty of the capture.

The suits takes several shots before it stops working and im sure that Rieka will tell them to look out for that when it happens.
I dont iether that Kie would let people die but now he is just thinking about killing the boss that he might not have the time to think about saving people lifes.

Still I don't get it that people in Gantz keep using this strategy. If you want to shoot people, why not make sure you stay as far away as possible while still being able to hit them? Any kid can folllow that logic.
I woulda thought it was just simple logic. Suit loses power, chance of survival down. Since Reika was leading the pack, she knows about the suits limitations. Still, since there isn't anyone with military experience none of them can come up with a better strategy. And eventually after missing the target 3 times, the target counterattacks and kills you in two hits. DEAD.
I think the target for this chapter might be a vampire...
