And, though I realize it was the other mod who suggested it, I'm not interested in jackass terms like "n00b" or "newbie," or threads that pertain to such. They were stupid when people came up with them in the 90s, and so much the worse now that people have had time to learn to get over such concepts.

The thread I suggested he post in is actually called the newbie thread, so I'm not quite sure why he got offended on that one. Bumping threads are against the rules, yes, but the 'newbie' thread doesn't really mean people new to berserk, but rather 'new to this forum's culture.' We don't really like seeing threads being necroed at all, which is why I suggested he should post in a thread that covers all the bases, aka the newbie thread.

That's just the way we roll. I don't see any harm in your posting in that thread appropriately named newbie berserk discussion thread. It's a sticky and it serves a purpose: it's purpose is discussion to things already talked about in the past.

I would also like to add, as for locking threads, we mods lock what we feel is appropriate. It's more like a responsibility than locking for fun, we try to keep everything in order. The thread has been dead for at least two months (since the beginning of time), and bumping inactive threads from such a long time ago is a definite no-no. However, necroing a thread that's been dead for two weeks which serves no purpose will get you a warning, and maybe a lock if necessary. 'Fun' threads like the 'Omake Section' seriously needs a bump with an omake though, same applies to fan art.
