Falsely? You did. And such things in a forum with edit buttons.Shaka Zulu wrote:Wooh, never seen anyone falsely accuse me of double posting before I feel molested
And even the Flashcommunity from Newgrounds is trying to help people and get money to donate to them.

PsychoGoldfish has a great idea that allows artists & programmers to help contribute to disaster relief. Basically, we want to put together a group of contributors from the site who will take sponsorship bids on their current / upcoming projects and the money will go to the Red Cross.
ARISTS & PROGRAMMERS: If you would like to produce a game for a charitable cause, please respond to this thread or email me. We are looking for people who are established and can be TRUSTED TO FINISH THE JOB. Sponsors will be asked to pay up-front, so we need to be sure they get a finished product. Don't promise something you can't finish in a reasonable time-frame, because you are essentially working for free to help those in need. If you are in the process of finishing a new game, now is a good time to do a good deed.
SPONSORS: This is a great opportunity to put your branding on a Flash game while at the same time helping a good cause. At the end of the day it is the artists who are making the donation, but without your support they wouldn't have the money to donate.
We will put together a list of game concepts and prices. Sponsors will contact us directly to arrange payment and then work with the artist to place their branding in the finished game. Checks will be sent to Newgrounds and 100% of the proceeds will be given to the Red Cross. We'll be able to keep track of how much money was raised and which sponsor / artist combos generated what revenue.
Let's get moving, we want to do this quick while the money is needed most!

The entire situation is making the American government look really bad. Canada offered medical personnel, military personnel, water purification units, etc... basically everything but money, but everything that's necessary to help them help themselves. The administration refused the aid, and yet still hadn't mobilized their own forces to provide relief. It's pretty ridiculous if you ask me.
And all those places Shaka Zulu mentioned that were offering aid were mentioned on our news stations up here (in the great white north. )

"Its" is used to denote possessive for an object or ungendered being.
"It's" is a contraction of "it is" being a conjugated form of "to be".
They are both acceptable given that you are using them in the right context.

Hrm, you know Bush did declare New Orleans (and possibly the state) a disaster area before it was hit; first time someone's declared it before the event.
Plus, I remember reading a blurb in the local paper where someone said that if a strong enough hurricane hit New Orleans, the levees wouldn't hold. This was in 1989. It's what happens when you build a city below sea level (and even farther below river level) and proceed to mess with how the river drains into the Gulf.

Probably said that because people use "it's" in passive sentences; which aren't bad per se, but are overused as a crutch for weak writing.Isn't "Its" improper itself? My brother, who is pretty much finished with his english/literature major, tells me Confused. Though i do believe that it is dependent on the situation in which you use it.
It is terrible for the people that were unable to leave New Orleans. But the people that chose to stay are dumbasses. It wouldnt matter how much I wanted to stay, when they said that the severity of the storm was so bad that they were releasing the prisoneer from the jails, I would have left.
I am fine with people stealing food and water from stores. But it pisses me off when they steal things like tvs and electronics(especially since there is no electricity). I heard the first thing to get looted from a walmart in NO was the gun section.
The people shooting at the rescue helicopters are dumbasses.
Bush has his reasons for not going down there. It would take away a lot of troops from the NG for security and such. Troops that could be out helping people.
The German environmentalist guy that said the US got what it deserved is a dumbass. He claims that(like someone else said) all the pollution that the US produces contributes to global warming and global warming has increased hurricane intensity and frequency or some bullshit. Scientists have debunked that theory.
I think the US can handle itself in situations like this, but we should not reject any help that other contries offer.
...and black people are coming to Utah!? Cool. There was one in my high school. He was nice.

I remember some seeing some complaints about FEMA and when I found this link I thought it might interest some. It seems well cited, too.

Bah everyone saying that those stayed behind are stupid should shut it their traps . Imagine that in New Orleans many people are very poor. As a matter of fact some of them doesn't even have insurrances at all. The only thing they got is their house and the house is their rock. You can't ask them to just sit there and leave when they got nothing else but the house.

My wife said it best.
It's been nearly 4 years since Sept 11, 2001. We've created the Department of Homeland Security to deal with terrorist threats and other major dangers to the American Public.
Yet, with DAYS not hours warning, we could not manage to evacuate one of the four most accessible cities in the country. New Orleans' bread and butter is shipping - moving goods through the city and out into the country. With an entire federal agency with unprecedented power and resources dedicated to the task of saving the population of New Orleans -- abject failure.
Now ask yourself. What if Katrina hadn't been a hurricane? What if the disaster had been a nuclear detonation, a VX gas attack, or a smallpox epidemic... would Homeland Security have been any more effective? Terrorists don't give you days of notice for an attack, and they don't operate with a giant spiral shaped cloud bigger than most European countries.
It sure is a good thing we're spending all that money on security. Sure looks like it's paying off.
Do you feel safe yet?

Even if it's(see I'm using the right one now ) even a fraction of truth in what Kanye said about Bush, its still a very pathetic thing to say, ispecially in such a time as this, when there are alot more urgent things to concentrate on then spewing your usual hyperbole.
It's popular to bash Bush(the idiot),but saying that kind of thing out of the blue,in such timing as this, and not to mention in a telethon where they(they as in public figures, celebs) are supposed to help out with this disaster, instead of creating problems and tension, well, thats just screwed up(even I see why he would be upset on how the citizens of NO,majority being black, are being treated like, the sick are layed around on the floor left to die,no one does anything for days).

Even though its mayhem in NO right now.dont believe everything you hear or read. The media are such dramatizing bullshitters.Lets see after things calm down,on how many cases of raping(no proof of it happening yet), shooting, killings, looting there have been. They are alot of overexagerrated claims and statements about the estimation of violence.I even heard such a load of crap where some TV station interviewed a hysterical women claim she saw alot of cases where little babies, infants even, that are being raped Seriously,I really loathe scums like the media, trying nothing but gain from this disaster(by only reporting about such bogus crap like this, instead of real people who need help).
P.S What its even worse then the looters*,are those douchebags that set up a fake charity and just steal money from people claiming to be helping the victims of Katrina. Another bunch of wonderful human beings.
*looters are those who loot things they dont need,as in food, clothes and water. It is necessary to distinguish between looters and people trying to survive.
