I think everyone was hoping that Grimmjow's release was similar to Gamma's chainsword. Probably a chainsaw-jawed Tyrannosaurus for a released form.

I think it was because some editors at Shonen Jump thought it was too similar to some other random manga so they had it canceled.

Kubo then tried to serialize Bleach but they first refused, they treated him like a little guy basically. Akira toriyama then told Kubo to insist with the idea and now he´s like one of the 3 biggest reasons people buy the fucking magazine.
