I just took a look at the manga for Black Lagoon.
And I have to say: This is one of those RARE cases where the anime isn't just a BIT better, it's WORLDS better than the manga. At least where I looked, in volume one. Sure the art is good, but there is so much missing, it all seems hasty, there are too few frames to describe the action, and even the dialogues come across as short. The anime makers really took what they found and improved upon it, by adding a lot to the atmosphere. And of course they got the find in a million with Revi's VA.
