OP manga has sold much more in Asia than Naruto and Bleach so its isnt wierd that its more popular.

I cant understand the japanese and thier love for comedy and romantic shows.

I dont care much for a list where Naruto is nr. 14 and Hajime No Ippo is nr. 98....

Tom & Jerry should've been No.1. :headbang: :headbang: :headbang:

No Cowboy Bebop?

As for the abundance of romantic shows, well, it just goes to show how sex-hungry the japanese are. :kekeke:

If any of you read the posts made by the JET guy, you'd know the great importance of 'Operation: Japanese D Cup'. Seriously though, if you look at Japanese society and how they view pornography....they're willing to pump that shit out(no pun intended) but still the Government has strict guidelines on censoring genitals. Am I the only one who sees the huge problem that creates? So they've got so much porn and kids no doubt see it at an early age, just like any other country but they don't see certain parts of the anatomy and it creates a curiousity; in many cases it causes perversion to the extent of groping and fondling a stranger is ok. If you look at the signs that are posted in their country, you'll see signs written on the bus saying "beware of perverts".

Even though this is somewhat off topic, I think it somewhat relates to why the Japanese love their romantic comedies. I'm not generalizing here that all of Japan is irrational when it comes to how to behave, a lot of countries are like that. I also think that some anime series make it worse on kids who are trying to learn how to behave. You look at a show like Love Hina where a guy can accidentally walk into a girl's bath and come away with only a minor bruise. Sure, the parents should be around to bring up their children but hopefully most of us can see the effects that mass media can have on us.

Edit: sorry for the rant :stupid:

When i saw the online survey poll i was utterly shocked and disgusted (I thought MTV had taken over TV Asahi). But when i saw the actual rankings i thought it was much better and much more accurate.

In response to the last post, yes they do censor the genitals, if there is pubic hair, but it is usually to the point where it is barely noticable. Mind you this only applies to shows that will be broadcast on television such as soap operas. In actual pornography its basically anything goes, even hentai has pubic hair sometimes as long as it is not on tv.

I can see Berserk not being in there, it seems to me it may not be very big in Japan, or maybe just the anime isn't big. But no CB? That just seems odd.
