I dunno if it specifically said in the manga how old he is but i been looking back at and trying to trace and find out how old he is..
This is the info. i picked up so far...

- By volume 4 he is 11
- After running away from the mercenaries he used to be with, 4 years pass (15)
- After being recruited into Band of the Hawks, 3 years pass, fight against Black Sheep Iron Spear Heavy Knights (got off Episode, eighteen)
- Guestimating - Guts stays with Band of the Hawk for about 3-5 years (22)
- Meets the Skull Knight, says "one year later the eclipse will come" (24)

From here on im just guessing that maybe 10 or more years pass... so he would be about 35ish (judging from his hair :))
Bah.. well i just put up this topic so i can hear wut you people think :D

The white hair, we decided, (in a freakishly ghey thread back in DP) was caused by the extremely stressful use of the Berserker's armour and other factors.

Well, I would say that he's probably mid to late 20's, judging from facial structures, and his demeanor.

But then again, going through alot of hell can make a person look older....

He joined the hawks when he was 15 i remember that and it hasn been ten years since that so he must 22-24 years old.

haha my bad.. its supposed to be How old not Hold... (newb typer)
meh.. i guess your right.. after getting hell, losing lots of blood, and all the stress he under i guess it would make him look older.
But wut i dont get is that from after the eclipse to the current chapter.. about only 1 year passed? And from after he joins the Hawks till he leaves is only about 2?

he was born
started to fight for the mercs at age 6
fucked by Donovan at age 9 (around that)
killed Gambino at age 11
joined the hawks at age 15
defeats Grifith at age 18
returns to Caska at age 19
since the eclips it has been around 2-3 years
he's now around 22 years old

What the! Damn, I've been absent the last couple of days or I would've responded. Yes, Gatts is probably 22. What Zilo said is pretty much correct. However, you can look for a more detailed and graceful explanation in my FAQ, which will be posted here in a couple of days. I will elaborate on that span of time after the eclipse too.

Raped by Donovan...oh brother. You could have referenced the fact that he first killed a man at age nine. It just sounds so much better. No I'm not talking about Donovan either, sheesh.
