Evil_Genius' Berserk community, Kentaro Miura's epic masterpiece, still active and translated. (Please don't ask about older Volumes. Buy from DarkHorse and support Miura.)
It's a beautiful heartwarming chapter, seeing everyone having a relaxing time and playing with the moonlight boy. Yet at the end still melancholic. One can only imagine the intensity with which Miura would've portrayed a scene between Griffith and Guts at this juncture, but that knowledge is lost, like tears in rain.
I still cannot believe that this is the end. Thank you for all your efforts over the years EG, this community and your translations have truly enriched my life, even if I mostly lurked.
Its a very fitting end. Extremely good, Its surprising how this is the final chapter is so poetic. From Quirky family stuff to intense family drama.
If Berserk is going to continue, it's most likely going to be in a sequel format. I don't know if Miura had notes of what he wanted to do or a script of the conversation that follows this like the Robert Jordan from WoT did but if it does end here It does put Skull Knights words into focus from ch 360.
It's a high note, it's definitely a high note. I'm very pleased with this being his last chapter.
It seems like they're aiming to close this as "Miura's Berserk" and maybe continue it under a different name or subtitle, which I wouldn't mind at all. But there seems to be lots to sort through before they feel they can do it justice. I'd say that if the answer was going to be "we're not gonna try to continue the story for X and Y reasons", that they'd be able to say that by now. That they're taking their time means they're planning something more substantial, but it's not easy.
"Clearly my escape had not been anticipated, or my benevolent master would not have expended such efforts to prevent me from going. And if my departure displeased him, then that was a victory, however small, for me." - Raziel
