Eden - It's an Endless World

Post by Dominion »

everyone seems to be bringing something to the table so i decided to bring this :)

this description is taken from the site that does the scans (http://www.mangaproject.cjb.net):

"Eden takes place after a significant portion of the world's population has fallen to a virus that causes the victims' skin to turn hard, immobilizing and killing them by reducing them to empty shells. The survivors, be they patchwork cyborgs who have replaced their affected anatomy or children who are somehow immune, persevere by skirting, or courting, the resultant social and political anarchy."

lets see... theres sex, guns, gore, political intrigue and some pretty good twists and turns... if you can follow the storyline...
its a little hard to understand whats really going on or where the story is going but to me its a good diversion from normal life

check it out *thumbs up*

Yeah its a great manga. Dont stop at the first book its only an intro and there is really no action into it. The real action starts in book 2 and it just keeps getting better! The ambiance is dark all you see is people dying man this is a nice one! Try to get chapter 23 and 24 those are good exemple of what I like about this manga!

Does it have a concise story or does it just wander about? I will look at it if it has a story, but if it's just a collection of gory episodes I don't think I'll enjoy it.

I started it, but then I somehow didn't have time to go on. It's pretty good, though, although I miss a bit of a character empathy factor.

Haha, thats a funny remark, I didnt even ask myself those kind of questions, I dont really care about empathy when I read mangas. Wait till you see their stories, they all have some "original"(bloody sometimes too) past. Where we are in the story weve seen the past of mostly all main characters except for Karn.
I feel that this manga is not about to end, the plot is still full of potentiel!

I read it a fair while ago. I enjoyed the setting and the harshness of certain events but in the end it struck me as pretentious and melodramatic.

oh man, do i love this comic. i was so obsessed with it for a while. the stories in them are just amazing. i love the characters, the art and yes, the level of maturity in the whole manga. this mangaka hasnt done much else recently other than a little manga of some short stories that are also good, but wow. if you havent read this, please do! i think vol 7 was one of my favorites. i dont want to spoil so i wont say anything about it, but its great i think.

Hmm, I never got into it, somehow. I read the first few volumes, but it didn't touch me at all. The trouble is, if I'm expecting all the main characters to either disappear or die sometime soon, I just don't empathise with them at all. Maybe that impression was wrong, but at some point I just stopped reading and didn't feel worse about it, either.

So, I guess it's a matter of taste. The art is definitely top-notch, though.

[edit]Hehe, I just noticed I said just the same thing a few posts up. Damn.[/edit]

It's sorta got a story other than that I feel the manga's just trying to look for shock value, I don't like it but it's my opinion.
