Currently Watching?

The latest and greatest of Japanese Animation. Found something new, or perhaps old and arcane... if it has to do with anime, it goes right here.

I am currently re-watching Full Metal Panic + Fumoffu and enjoy it very much. This time with german dub, which is surprisingly good (Souske is voiced by the german voice of Tobey Maguire). But alas, the second raid isn't out yet in germany, because Funimation fucked up.

So anyway, can someone recomment anime(s) that are akin to stuff like Full Metal Panic, and Full Metal Alchemist? I really enjoy those mixes of action and comedy.

I am currently watching many Miyazaki movies that I never saw before (which is most of them). Also Turn-A Gundam but that's taking a while. and rewatching Berserk, on episode 11, but delayed it to reread the manga instead.

I watched the Resident Evil Degeneration last night. It was decent, it served my purposes watching some zombies get owned is what I live for. Seems like it is a tie in for the upcoming game.

Yeah, it was pretty cool. I mean I can't complain. I'm looking forward to playing RE5. Chris is my favorite main character, though Claire and Leon are badass too.

Kurozuka - Only seen the two first episodes and this series looks promising even though its a tiny bit confusing.
Going to watch the latest episode of Major now.

Oh and what the f*ck has happened to Bleach? In the middle of all the action a freaking filler episode pops up lika a big slap in the face, bastards :(

Watched Ninja Scroll. Had it on my computer for like 4 years without subs but just got around to finding some and watching it.
Also I started watching Hajime no Ippo, it's not bad but not that great either.

You're crazy, Ippo is amazing! XD

I love sports anime though. Ippo especially, it's really funny at times, and really dramatic at others. I don't know, maybe it's just something you have to be into. I wasn't even that into boxing until I watched Ippo. I didn't know if I'd like it, but I became a fan of not only the show, but the sport as well.

Well there's one thing I love about that anime: the manager's voice is Zodd. Pure hilarity right there.

I'm rewatching all of DBZ because I've bought the whole series on those newly remastered season sets, up to and including season 7. It's a little wierd for me, because after the Frieza Saga all of the voice acting in Canadian broadcasting was done by Ocean Group, so the guy I recognize as playing Goku is the same guy who played Miroku from Inuyasha. I also just watched Spriggan, which was killer good. Way better than Indi 4, especially considering its style is like mixing 007 and Indi together. Its way better than any 007 flick too.

So you live in Canada then, right. I think you guys were behind US in DBZ even, heh. I liked the Ocean Group voices, we had them during the Saiyan Saga, and then they changed to some weird shit during Frieza. Vegeta's voice got all deep and everyone sucked at first. Goku's voice was the only one that was really any good after that. Piccolo and Vegeta sounded the same, it was crappy. I think Brian Drummond's Vegeta voice is way better than Sabot or whatever his name was.

My wife and I have kind of taken a break from re-watching DBZ but we're at the end, we'll get to it soon I imagine. Goku hasn't quiet started to summon the Genki Dama yet.

Ok so saw a link today on a torrent site for a promo for a new anime series.

Fullmetal Alchemist 2.
Anyone that has some info about this, is it going to continue from where the first series ended or what?

I checked it out, and it looks like they're redoing the anime to make it more like the manga, stupid move in my opinion. If they do that then they're gonna screw up the prescident set by the first anime, and the movie Conquerer of Shambala. I haven't read the manga, but I don't want them to start over.

I think starting over is a good idea, because the manga plot line is a lot better, IMO. I read the manga first, so when the anime diverged from the manga and started doing its own thing from then on, to me it was just like a bunch of filler. Heh, I mean, it had some good parts after that, but I thought that bitch Dante was so freaking lame. You should check out the new FMA series Herald, you might end up liking it more. The original series went into permanent filler land around about the halfway point as I recall. Not only that, but they rewrote some of the beginning and screwed with the timeline, which made some of it weird as well. Like their ages were wrong during some of the scenes and stuff. Hopefully they just do it all right this time and we can get to see some more awesomeness and true plot from the manga.

Well I´ll watch it once it comes out.
If this series gets popular as hell they might look at another manga in the future (Berserk damn it :P ) to do a remake of.

i don't think that they'd ever redo berserk, it was pretty similar to the manga and a bunch of the stuff they left out was the kind of stuff that would be considered pornographic over here in the states, and probably in japan too. theres a bunch of different etiquette when you compare written, graphic, and video medeas.

They left out Puck and Skull Knight, neither of which are pornographic. If they were going to do a second season they'd need to do something about these characters which should already have been pre-established. Whether they were to start over and redo the series or rewrite the story, they'd have to work them in somehow.

I don't know how many of you are watching Gundam 00 but I think I just spotted a True Weltall clone. This should be enough to keep my interest for now.

Gundam X will surprise you, it would have been a better show to dub than Gundam Seed IMO, not as sappy and better characters. As for what I am CURRENTLY watching, I'm taking a look at all of the DBZ movies online. The Cooler ones are boring, but I really liked the Bojack one, that's like the only one that doesn't horribly screw with the storyline. The DBZ anime itself is either based really far apart where they can stick anything they want, or too close together where if you put something like they did with the Broly it makes no sense.

Just started watching Negima Sensei. From what I have watched to far, the only possible conclusion would be that it sucks. However, I read somewhere (TV tropes may be?) that at some point it get unexpectedly good. I can only hope whoever it was that wrote it was right.

I completely agree. What about Spike-ing up your avatar a little? May be that will wash off the DBZ badness from poor, poor Caska.

I'm in the process of downloading and watching the original Dragonball. I never really watched it before. Everybody says that it's a lot better than DBZ, but I could never get into it because I couldn't stand the music. Plus there was no Gohan or Vegeta.
