Garrus and Wrex are my buddy-buddies.

Amen to that. Wrex is easily the best killing machine on the team.

But one time I played the game with Tali and Wrex instead of Garrus.
Really missed Garrus and his sniper then :P

I always max out shotgun, when its maxed out you can almost hit anything from a 100 yards from you :P

Can't wait for the game to come out on PC. BioWare RPGs like KOTOR always made me drool in extasy, and Mass Effect is supposed to even top KOTOR gameplay and storytelling wise.

Wrex and Garrus are my two favourite characters in the game so far aswell. Since I'm a pure combat specialist their skills complement mine well, but most of all I like them because of their interesting and well developed personalities. You'd think Wrex would be the typical badass don't-give-a-shit-about-nothing character when you first meet him, but you find out there's more to him than that through dialogue with him in the hangar. I figured Garrus would be the typical righteous, law abiding character when I first met him too (that's sorta the role I take whenever I play role-playing games) but it was a pleasant surprise when he turned out to be more of a chaotic-good character. I like the fact that my main characters don't always agree with each other, it presents interesting, dynamic scenarios sometimes.

well i play all my games on hard and I'm just past the whole epic choice scene at lvl 35. I just seems that right now no one can touch me, 5 shields, with over almost 600 hp, and maxxed out spectre and shock tropper trainning, my main character is just unstoppable. I mean first around agaisnt Saren was a joke. What is a high level for Mass Effect, because it seems like it would be fairly easy to beat the game before you even hit lvl 40.

I think 60 is the level cap but enemies level up with you in the harder difficulties so it's kinda hard to tell exactly what a "high level" is.

The game is pretty challenging on Insane but it's not too bad if you go for New Game+ with Spectre equipment and a good set of skills.

Now the real question is, are there better gear than the Spectre prototypes?

No, thats what sucks with this game.
You can buy the best weapons, then you sell everything you find but you dont need the money anyway.

I think that's the best armor in the game.

The Colossus, I think?

There's one for each race and weight in your party.

It'll be a while before you get the X models though.

I think the Shepard from my first playthrough is still sporting a Colossus VIII.

You rather find them in chests in the bottom of a dungeon?

Yeah I would rather find the best items then just buying them, but I figure you dont.
How much fun is there honestly to get the best weapon possible 1/4 or even 1/5 into the game?

That's not really true.

You don't unlock Spectre equipment until after you gain a million credits and that takes a while, especially if you're not aware of how to unlock it and don't go out of your way to save money.

And there's still DLC to come so, even though Bringing Down the Sky doesn't have any new equipment, we might still get some new stuff in the future.

I stand corrected about the first time you play the game. Well if you already have the one million achievement you can buy it right away when you play the game again, was such a long time ago I played through the first time so didnt remember that you first needed the achievement.

Heads-up: The Bring Down the Sky DLC for Mass Effect is not worth it.

Wow.

You're missing out on like half of the appeal of owning a 360.

I take it you can't play online either?

Team Fortress 2 is amazing.

Call of Duty 4, Gears (still fairly enjoyable), Rock Band and a gazillion XBLA titles.

Upcoming online titles worth playing: Street Fighter IV, Soul Calibur IV, Ikaruga.

Have it for PC. Free maps and endless customization ftw. All characters wearing party hats and exploding into ballons never gets old.
Femto wrote:Call of Duty 4
PS3, mainly because everyone i know, has it on PS3 and not xbox360.
Femto wrote:Gears (still fairly enjoyable)
have it, but its blah now.
Femto wrote:Rock Band and a gazillion XBLA titles.
a friend has rockband for his PS3, so im set, no need to buy it. Dont have much from the XBLA, partly half the good stuff i already own, except Geomentry Wars, that was worth it, though SSHD might even be better.

I understand that Live has things to do with, like renting movies and stuff, i just dont see why i have to get it, when someone else has already provided the service elsewhere for free. (Btw some of that crap on XBLA should belong to web game sites only).

/ninja edit, you fucking got me with Ikaruga(despite it being a re-release)... Soul Calibur is cool and what not, but it is also for PS3...

I dunno.

It just feels to me like you're playing on a gimped 360.

And renting movies and shit is worthless to me.

I've never, ever had a problem with Xbox Live. In fact, I've only ever had extremely positive experiences with it. Best online gaming service I've used, although I still prefer being able to set up and find servers for free on PC games rather than using the Windows Live service, but I have no objections to paying for the Xbox 360 service.
